A WINTER WEDDING by Brenda Novak

This book was so sweet.  You can't choose who you love, nor can you choose how fast you fall in love with them.  This is what happened in this book and it was so beautiful. Kyle Houseman, man, does he have it rough.  The love of his life is married to his step-brother and worst of all, he has the ex-wife from hell. I could not believe the nerve of this woman.  The way she twisted everything was alarming to read.  She always made Kyle out to be the bad guy and he never really did anything to set people straight. So guess what, she gets away with all her trouble making and bad mouthing. I think he lets her get away with all her craziness because he's punishing himself for sleeping with his, how do I say this...girlfriend's ( who put their relationship on hold and ran away to some far away college) sister. Because of one mistake, he has to suffer for the rest of his life.  Now there is a new woman in town that makes him forget about his ex-wi...

MARRY ME AT CHRISTMAS by Susan Mallery

This book was a breath of fresh air from all the other romance books that seem to be getting a little dirtier as time moves on. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that, I still enjoy those type of books.  But sometimes, a girl needs a break. Madeline Krug is the resident owner of Fool's Gold Bridal Boutique.  She has the magic touch of always finding the perfect dress for each of her brides.  Seeing the joy on their when they find the perfect dress, always fills Madeline with pride.  Knowing how good she is at her job, Major Marsha assigned Madeline with the task of planning a wedding for a special new resident. Excited about this new venture that was bestowed upon her, and really, who can say no to Mayor Marsha? Madeline accepts this task only to regret it soon after. In order to plan this wedding, Madeline has to work closely with the bride's brother, who is none other than Jonny Blaze. Jonny Blaze is a famous movies star that recently moved to ...

COLD FEET AT CHRISTMAS by Debbie Johnson

This book was not what I was expecting. I thought that this was a novella and I prepared myself for that, but it was longer than I expected and spicy.  It does not have erotica in the genre, but it should, it really should. WARNING: Rated R. Running out on your wedding shouldn't be this much fun. Leah Harvey is frozen and the car she took for her getaway has decided to shut down on her.  Things wouldn't have been so bad if she wasn't in the middle of a snowstorm with nothing but her thin wedding dress. After witnessing her husband halfway up the bridesmaid’s skirt just hours before the ceremony, Leah ran from the wedding with nothing but the clothes on her back. Deciding that trying to get help was better than staying in the freezing car to die, Leah braced herself and took off into the direction of a light she saw in the distance.  Hoping that she can make it there before her limbs freeze off, Leah sets off with determination, even if the ...

JUST IN TIME FOR A HIGHLANDER by Gwyn Cready

This book was not what I was expecting.  It was totally different from what I speculated and I have to say, the cover of a book has let me down once again. A certain over used quote comes to mind. Abby Kerr is the chieftess of Clan Kerr.  Yes you heard me right, she, as in a woman, is the chieftess of her clan, when she unexpectedly got the title by default. It may sound good in theory but unfortunately it was not.  The men were not accustom to listening to a woman, much less to actually take orders from her.  As you can guess, she does not have the full support of her people. The only way to get their support is to marry, but that is the last thing Abby wants.  If she marries, her title would go to her husband and she would be nothing but a mere woman. Needing help in the most desperate of ways, Abby ask for help from her friend who gives her a spell. The thing is, when Abby used the spell (accident ally) it goes horribly wrong. Duncan MacHarg i...

MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY by Jill Shalvis

It feels so wrong reading this book before even reading Chloe and Sawyer's story.  But first come first serve ( most of the time anyway ). Wild child Chloe Thompson cannot believe how her life has turned out and she has the stomach to prove it.  Having a bun in the oven is making Chloe more cranky than usual.   She takes most of her frustration out on her sexy ( but not as sexy as Ford ) husband  Sawyer, which may or may not have put a strain on their relationship.  Hating that Sawyer is constantly put in danger because of his job, since he has taken on more work recently.  Chloe wonders if Sawyer really has to go on these missions or if he does it just to get away from her. Feeling terrified and alone in a room filled of people who love her, all Chloe wants for Christmas is the reassurance that Sawyer loves her, and of course, Sawyer himself. But going a week without her husband is driving her mad, especially since she is close to her due date...

RING ON HER FINGER by Lisa Swinton

This book got me so angry.  This girl was not serious.  She did not deserve him and I wished he realized that he was better off without her and move on. Amanda St. Clair had a "What happens in Vegas" moment when she married the rich playboy, Blake Worthington, whom she loathed for the past four years.  Having the worst hangover of her life was not helping matters and all Amanda wanted was out of this so call marriage. With a promise to have the marriage annulled from her "husband", Amanda returns home, praying for this to end with no-one finding out about her stupid mistake. Her mistake was not so easily solved when Blake showed up on her doorstep, claiming that his parents cut him off and he has to pay for the annulment himself. Not wanting the spoiled rich kid to mingle with her family, but seeing as how she has no choice, she reluctantly allows Blake to stay. As the weeks went by and Blake did not go running back to his parents, Amanda sees a new sid...

CHRISTMAS IN LUCKY HARBOR by Jill Shalvis + BONUS

Two wonderful stories about family, love and determination.  I loved all the characters in this book and the stories just got better with each new story.  BONUS!  There are two short stories for your enjoyment at the end of the book! Simply Irresistible Maddie is having a not so good life right now.  She has just broken up from a bad relationship, lost her job and is close to being penniless.  Not wanting to lose faith, Maddie puts on a brave face and drives to Lucky Harbor where her mother left her and her two sisters an Inn. Feeling good about herself, things came crashing down when she ran someone off the road for one.  The other is that when she arrived at the Inn, it was to discover that it was nothing more than a ramshackle building in need of being torn down. Her sisters decided to sell, but knowing that this is her only shot, Maddie convinces them to take a chance on her. Would she fail them and herself, or would Maddie find everything...

YOURS FOR CHRISTMAS by Susan Mallery

The best love stories happen around Christmas and this is just one of the many.  The characters in this book will just grasp your heart and not let go. Bailey Voss has got it bad.  Bailey is crushing on an ex-football player named Kenny Scoot,  but she knows that he is out of her league.  Kenny only dates super thin, well endowed women, that are mostly models and actors.  Bailey knows that she does not stand a chance at catching Kenny's attention, seeing as how she is a single mom and battling to lose that extra twenty pounds, but hey, a girl can day dream.   Things change when the mayor of Fool's Gold roped Kenny and Bailey to "volunteer" to run a toy drive. Bailey got to see the sweet, generous and kind side of Kenny and that coupled with his ruggedly good looks, Bailey was falling and falling hard.  To bad Kenny already told her where they stand. Having gone through losing someone important to him, Kenny Scott has vowed to never again dat...

A NOVEMBER BRIDE by Beth K. Vogt

I did not really feel for this book.  I especially did not like the heroine in it too, she was to full of herself in an awkward way.  She thought about herself way to much for my liking. Sadie McAllister is the star of her own cooking show. Well, she is the star of her own cooking show in her head. She really is a private chef, and when she is alone in the kitchen she talks to her imaginary audience and look into the secret cameras. Does she sound crazy, yes, but it's her dream and you don't mess with someone's dream.  Her life was going fine and on a schedule, just the way she likes it, until a family she cooks for is moving away and wants her to come with them. She would get a higher salary and a chance at teaching at a school.  Not really having a reason to stay, Sadie considers it.  The only thing holding her back is her best friend Erick Davis.  Erick has a thing for Sadie ever since middle school.  When he made a move, Sadie did everyt...

A MAY BRIDE by Meg Moseley

Okay, not quite sure what to say about this book.  What exactly do I say about a book that I did not enjoy at all.  Is it mean and unfair that I think this.   Ellie Martin has been saving for her wedding all her life.  She wants a big traditional wedding with the puffy white dress, and all the frills and trills, just like the one her younger sisters is having (at the expense of their mother).  She has it all planned out ... except she has no groom.  Needing to de-stress from her life, Ellie goes to her secret garden near a church.  She found this place by accident and the garden was calling out to her.  Gardening relaxes her, so anytime she needs to relax, she goes there, without the knowledge of the owners. On one particular day, when she was gardening; a wedding took place.  Not wanting to be discovered, Ellie hides and watches the beautiful ceremony.  That is how she officially met Grey Whitby. Wanting to share the good ne...

WINTER BRIDES: Three Novellas in one

DECEMBER BRIDE In a December Bride, Alright, I read this part of the series after A February Bride and it was okay, I enjoyed a February Bride better but this was good in it's own way. Seth Murphy is in trouble.  He found the perfect woman in Layla O'Reilly, but his best friend beat him to the punch and asked her out first.  If that was not bad enough, his best friend leaves Layla for her cousin and now Layla is putting all the blame on him since he introduced the two. How can Seth fix this, read and find out. Having no date for the wedding of her witch of a cousin and the fiance she stole from her.  Layla was desperate and in a fit of poor helplessness agreed to go to the wedding with the man that made this all happen ( in her twisted mind any way ). Things don't go as plan when a marriage was announced out of duress but it was all a misunderstanding.  Things go from bad to worse before anything can be cleared up and now Seth and Layla are "pretend" enga...

AN OCTOBER BRIDE by Katie Ganshert

Now this is the type of fake wedding I can approve of.  Is your face like, WHAT? right now, well my explanation comes in the form of this review. While putting the mail on her father's desk, Emma Tate accidentally knocked over his day planner book and a piece of paper fell out.  On the paper was her father's bucket list and everything was crossed out; all except one.  The one that was not marked of was to walk Emma down the aisle. Shocked my this information, Emma knows that her father does not have much time in this world and wants to do this for him.  But who would be her groom?  She cannot call her ex-fiance of two years for this, that's just cruel. Help comes in the most surprising place in the form of Jake Sawyer, a life long friend of hers.  He was the one to "propose" to her and set this whole idea in motion. With this secret only between the two of them, can they really pull of a fake wedding and fool not only her parents, ...

A JULY BRIDE by Beth Wiseman

Well this book was a surprise to me.  Usually when two people hurt each other in this way, I don't like them but Alyssa and Brendan got me good.  I felt more for Brendan than Alyssa and here is why. "Today is the day, today is the day I finally get to marry the love of my life.  After months of planning everything is set in motions as I walk down the aisle on my father's arm." This was Alyssa Pennington's thoughts when she watched the panic in her future husbands eyes right before he turned and fled out of the church. Embarrassed, humiliated and heart broken, Alyssa never wants to feel this way again, so when Brendan come grovelling back, she runs into the arms of another man. Brendan knew he made a terrible mistake.  Leaving Alyssa at the alter was the stupidest thing he has ever done.  He does everything in his power to win her back, but all his stunts just drives Alyssa further away. Would these two hurt souls find their way back to each other...
