WHERE THE HEART LEADS by Stephanie Laurens

What drives a gentle born lady to spend all her time taking care of the children of less fortunate families instead of grooming herself to find a husband as is the norm in those days? You would have to ask Lady Penelope Ashford. Lady Penelope Ashford along with her sisters had opened a home for underprivileged children so they can grow up and earn a trade for themselves.  For years the Foundling House ( as they named it ) has thrived  but of late their charges has been disappearing. It usually works like this, when someone from the West End of London is about to die, they send word to the Foundling house about their predicament and make plans for the Foundling house to take in their children/ward when they are gone. When the parent or guardian dies, neighbors send word that their client had died and they go and collect the child, except recently someone has beaten them to it. Feeling at a lost at what she must do, Penelope seeks the aid of Barna...

ENTICING MISS EUGENIE VILLARET by Ella Quinn

I was devastated by this book.  It had so much potential and had me all excited and then.........and then........... (starts crying) , I just can't say it yet, go on and read my review. William, Viscount Wivenly, is determined to remain a bachelor for the rest of his life.  His elusiveness is what makes him even more irresistible to woman and William finds himself caught in many a scheme to trap him into marriage from the young ladies of the ton as well as their mother's. Finding a way to get escape from it all in the form of a task bestowed on him by his father, William sets off to the West Indies to solve the problem that seems to be plaguing a member of the family.  Once that task is down, William intends to fully sample the local wares, and I don't mean the food. Determined to help her family despite what her mother says, Miss Eugenie Villaret will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of her family's financial problems.  Enlisting the help of her ch...

AT THE DUKE'S PLEASURE by Tracey Anne Warren

All the books I choose are like a yo-yo, first one disappoints me and then the next one makes up for it. I'm still in my "trying something new" phase and even with the disappointments in some books, I'm loving trying new authors.  At the Duke's Pleasure is an awesome read that will have you laughing. Edward Byron, Duke of Clybourne, has had his life planned out since the day he was born.  What school he had to attend, the friends he was to keep and worst of all, what bride he was to take.  This was too much for a boy of ten to take and he rebelled (quietly) against having a bride, ten years his junior.  Now Edward is in his early thirty's and finally saw the wisdom of his father choosing a bride for him, but when he goes to claim his bride, would she have him? Claire Marsden has always known that she was to marry a Duke and has been excited about the marriage until her heart was broken at the tender age of sixteen. To further add insult to injury, her...

WHEN A LAIRD TAKES A LADY by Rowan Keats

Alright, apparently my theme this time around is to read books from authors I have never even heard about.  So far, I am having fun enjoying new things whilst discovering new authors; but one thing I would LOVE to know, is their a sequel to this book because seriously, Rowan Keats left me hanging. Isabail Grant was abducted from her entourage, when she was on her way to the King, with her lady maid. They were taken into the mountains to either await to be ransomed or raped and killed.  After a failed attempt of escaping almost got them killed, when the leader of her kidnappers arrived to take her back, Isabail is more inclined to follow him than die.  She already lost everything, she did not want to also lose her life. Aiden MacCurran must find evidence of the innocence of his clan or lose his land and forever be outcasts. Falsely accused of a crime he did not commit, Aiden must find answers to what he seeks and he can get it from none other than Miss Isabail Grant...

HOW TO ABDUCT A HIGHLAND LORD by Karen Hawkins

Some years back I saw this in a store and was immediately interested in the the the of the story, when I read the description on the back I was hooked, and thus my first taste of Karen Hawkins was born. Fiona MacLean, wanting to stop her hotheaded brothers rom doing something foolish (like most brothers do) decided to sacrifice herself in order to end the feud between her family and the Kincaid's; and the only way that she thought of to stop the feud is to marry. Unfortunately, the groom did not come willingly, he was picked up after he fell from his horse and knocked unconscious.  He was woken up in a church where he was married in a drunken stupor. Jack Kincaid, where he is more infamously known as Black Jack Kincaid, did not have a care in the world.  He is the inheritor of a large fortune so he can do what he pleases, when he pleases; and he most definitely did not want to marry, ever.  This "union" was made even worse by the past these two shared, which...
