COLD FEET AT CHRISTMAS by Debbie Johnson

This book was not what I was expecting. I thought that this was a novella and I prepared myself for that, but it was longer than I expected and spicy.  It does not have erotica in the genre, but it should, it really should.

WARNING: Rated R.

Running out on your wedding shouldn't be this much fun.

Leah Harvey is frozen and the car she took for her getaway has decided to shut down on her.  Things wouldn't have been so bad if she wasn't in the middle of a snowstorm with nothing but her thin wedding dress.

After witnessing her husband halfway up the bridesmaid’s skirt just hours before the ceremony, Leah ran from the wedding with nothing but the clothes on her back.

Deciding that trying to get help was better than staying in the freezing car to die, Leah braced herself and took off into the direction of a light she saw in the distance.  Hoping that she can make it there before her limbs freeze off, Leah sets off with determination, even if the cabin might contain a serial killer.

Rob Cavelli was brooding in his cabin when he suddenly finds himself with his arms filled with a  soaking wet, freezing, and absolutely gorgeous bride on the run. She collapsed right into his arms and he saw that she was blue from the cold.

Rob jumps into to action and quickly removes her clothes and sets her by the fire.  Looking at the cold, wet, NAKED woman who stumbled into this hard time in his life, Rob does not know what to do.  He can't tell her to leave with a blizzard outside, and her staying is not good for his health with all her sexy curves.

All he wanted was to spend Christmas by himself, trying to live with the pain that he constantly lives with every day.  Would Leah help Rob with his problems?  Can Rob bring an end to Leah's problems?  Would they be able to withstand the heat that they create when around each other?

WHOA!  This book had some serious erotica in it.  I was not expecting it, and my eyes bugged out of my head reading it.  The things Leah did to Rob and the things he did in return was breathtaking, but I'm not here to talk about that, I'm here to talk about how STUPID Leah is.

I could not believe her.  She just caught her fiance cheating on her on the day of their wedding. She found Rob some hours later and already she wanted to jump him.  A few hours after that, they have relations with each other in the cabin.

When the storm ended did it ends there, no it did not.  Rob asked Leah to come back with him to American to start over her life and instead of saying no like I thought she would she told him yes.

YES! I cannot believe her.  Leah has been telling herself and Rob that she wants to be independent and to stand on her own two feet, I have yet to see her do so. She was dependent on her fiance, then she was dependent on Rob, then it was Rob's brother and Rob's mother and finally, she ran back to her ex.

I kid you not. And even with all this, I liked Leah.  Yeah; she had some issues but she's so likable.  Rob, on the other hand, was a toad and needed to be sprinkled with salt (that's how we harm frogs in my country). How dare he treat people that way and feel good about himself.

Rob was sweet and kind in the cabin but when he got back to his world he was a completely different person.  He was mean, cold and hurtful to everyone.  What he repeatedly did to Leah was unfair and he should have been punished much more than he did.  I barely liked Rob, barely.

The book was quite entertaining, but I had an issue with the large body of text in the book.  When I see too much text jumbled together, my brain wants to skip all that text and skim it.  I had to force myself to look at the text and actually read what was going on.

Another thing that I had problems with is with the constant repetition.  It was quite exhausting to read the same thing over and over again, but I did finish the book in a few days.

HAPPY READING!

AT THE DUKE'S PLEASURE by Tracey Anne Warren

All the books I choose are like a yo-yo, first one disappoints me and then the next one makes up for it. I'm still in my "trying something new" phase and even with the disappointments in some books, I'm loving trying new authors.  At the Duke's Pleasure is an awesome read that will have you laughing. Edward Byron, Duke of Clybourne, has had his life planned out since the day he was born.  What school he had to attend, the friends he was to keep and worst of all, what bride he was to take.  This was too much for a boy of ten to take and he rebelled (quietly) against having a bride, ten years his junior.  Now Edward is in his early thirty's and finally saw the wisdom of his father choosing a bride for him, but when he goes to claim his bride, would she have him? Claire Marsden has always known that she was to marry a Duke and has been excited about the marriage until her heart was broken at the tender age of sixteen. To further add insult to injury, her...
