SIMPLY PLEASURE by Kate Pearce

This was a very simple book to read.  There was not really anything that had me excited about it, it was just a story about two men who needed each other to survive. Val Sokorvsky has a lot of anger inside of him.  After spending ten years as a sex slave in a Turkish brothel; he was saved and brought back home to England.  Feeling ashamed of what he had become, Val pushes everyone away but the one person who went through it all with him, Peter. Now Peter wants to leave him and Val would do anything to prevent that from happening. Peter Howard was on the same ship as Val when it was attached.  Unlike Val, who remembers everything, Peter was left with a big hole in his memory.  Now that both him and Val were rescued from the Brothel he does not know what exactly to do with himself. Whoring himself is all what he knows how to do.  He wants distance himself from Val to find himself, but Val convinces him to stay. Now years later, Peter still does not know who he is and living

AN UNCOMMON WHORE by Belinda McBride

Usually I don't really like to read a science fiction book that is too much removed from what we use today.  This is because I have a hard time picturing what it is exactly I'm suppose to be picturing.  ( if that makes any sense to you ).  I requested this book because of the publisher and I was not disappointed. Pasha hates being a slave. Having to earn his keep on his knees on the most dangerous bar on Warlan. He tried to run away but the officials caught him and brought him back to his owner. Even if, by some miracle, he does escape, where would he return to?  With no memory of who he is, Pasha has no idea who or what is waiting for him.  Yet deep down, he knows that he is meant for more. This particular day in Warlan, Pasha discovers a dangerous looking pirate in the bar.  There was something about him that instantly caught his interest and Pasha knew that he could not let this person walk away from him.  Even if he has to humiliate himself to gain his attention.

BLOOD WOLF DAWNING by Rhyannon Byrd

There's just something about ware wolfs that's just hot.  And no, I am not thinking about Twilight ware wolfs, even though they were fun.  I'm taking about the possessive, your MINE kind of ware wolf that makes you mad but also can't help but crave them at the same time.  ( SIGH ) Finding your life-mate is suppose to be the best feeling in the world.  You find the person who was made just for you and you live happily ever after.   This is not the case for Sayre Murphy, her life mate wants absolutely nothing to do with her.  If having her life mate not claim her was painful enough, watching him give away what is rightfully hers to multiple woman was cutting her to threads.  Having enough of the pain and humiliation, Sayre takes a stand and makes an ultimatum. Instead of the results she craved, she lost everything, including her humanity.  Cain Hennessey has a deep dark secret that he wants to keep from everyone.  Finding his life mate is maybe the worse thing

THE WITNESS by Nora Roberts

Well this book was new.  Usually I dislike know-it-all people but I made an exception for Abigail Lowery who had to bury Elizabeth Fitch in order to survive. Elizabeth Fitch has seen something that no sixteen year old should ever see. She saw two people gunned down right in front of her eyes.  To make matters worse, it is Russian mafia related and if she was caught, she knows that she'll be dead too.  All this started with the act of a rebellion of a sixteen year old girl. Twelve years later, a woman who goes by the name of Abigail Lowery is living on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks.  She is an oddity to the residents of Bickford and to make matters worse, she has a huge dog, and a wide range of firearms. Keeping to yourself is not the way to go in a small town and Abigail unintentionally caught the eye of the local police chief Brooks Gleason.  Just wanting to be left alone, Abigail unwittingly pulled Brooks closer to her and to her horror, she starts to welco

YOURS FOR CHRISTMAS by Susan Mallery

The best love stories happen around Christmas and this is just one of the many.  The characters in this book will just grasp your heart and not let go. Bailey Voss has got it bad.  Bailey is crushing on an ex-football player named Kenny Scoot,  but she knows that he is out of her league.  Kenny only dates super thin, well endowed women, that are mostly models and actors.  Bailey knows that she does not stand a chance at catching Kenny's attention, seeing as how she is a single mom and battling to lose that extra twenty pounds, but hey, a girl can day dream.   Things change when the mayor of Fool's Gold roped Kenny and Bailey to "volunteer" to run a toy drive. Bailey got to see the sweet, generous and kind side of Kenny and that coupled with his ruggedly good looks, Bailey was falling and falling hard.  To bad Kenny already told her where they stand. Having gone through losing someone important to him, Kenny Scott has vowed to never again date a single mom.

A NOVEMBER BRIDE by Beth K. Vogt

I did not really feel for this book.  I especially did not like the heroine in it too, she was to full of herself in an awkward way.  She thought about herself way to much for my liking. Sadie McAllister is the star of her own cooking show. Well, she is the star of her own cooking show in her head. She really is a private chef, and when she is alone in the kitchen she talks to her imaginary audience and look into the secret cameras. Does she sound crazy, yes, but it's her dream and you don't mess with someone's dream.  Her life was going fine and on a schedule, just the way she likes it, until a family she cooks for is moving away and wants her to come with them. She would get a higher salary and a chance at teaching at a school.  Not really having a reason to stay, Sadie considers it.  The only thing holding her back is her best friend Erick Davis.  Erick has a thing for Sadie ever since middle school.  When he made a move, Sadie did everything in her power to b

A MAY BRIDE by Meg Moseley

Okay, not quite sure what to say about this book.  What exactly do I say about a book that I did not enjoy at all.  Is it mean and unfair that I think this.   Ellie Martin has been saving for her wedding all her life.  She wants a big traditional wedding with the puffy white dress, and all the frills and trills, just like the one her younger sisters is having (at the expense of their mother).  She has it all planned out ... except she has no groom.  Needing to de-stress from her life, Ellie goes to her secret garden near a church.  She found this place by accident and the garden was calling out to her.  Gardening relaxes her, so anytime she needs to relax, she goes there, without the knowledge of the owners. On one particular day, when she was gardening; a wedding took place.  Not wanting to be discovered, Ellie hides and watches the beautiful ceremony.  That is how she officially met Grey Whitby. Wanting to share the good news with her family, Ellie brings Grey home to her

WINTER BRIDES: Three Novellas in one

DECEMBER BRIDE In a December Bride, Alright, I read this part of the series after A February Bride and it was okay, I enjoyed a February Bride better but this was good in it's own way. Seth Murphy is in trouble.  He found the perfect woman in Layla O'Reilly, but his best friend beat him to the punch and asked her out first.  If that was not bad enough, his best friend leaves Layla for her cousin and now Layla is putting all the blame on him since he introduced the two. How can Seth fix this, read and find out. Having no date for the wedding of her witch of a cousin and the fiance she stole from her.  Layla was desperate and in a fit of poor helplessness agreed to go to the wedding with the man that made this all happen ( in her twisted mind any way ). Things don't go as plan when a marriage was announced out of duress but it was all a misunderstanding.  Things go from bad to worse before anything can be cleared up and now Seth and Layla are "pretend" enga

BLOG TOUR for Lindy Zart

All right people, here is another book from an author I recently discovered and enjoy, Miss Lindy zart   She writes fun and amazing stories about falling in love and I hope that this book "Roomies" is the same. I got a copy of the book to review but I was not able to finish it in time for my schedule on the tour, but look forward a teaser in the form of a book except. Title: Roomies Author: Lindy Zart Genre: NA Rom-Com Blurb: Graham Malone is my roommate, my personal eye candy, the reason I get up in the morning smiling (that could be from the illicit dreams I have about him too, I suppose. Let's move on.). He's also beautiful to look at, but his heart is where his true beauty lies. Take away the exterior and the interior still shines. I love him. I mean, I'm pretty sure I do, having never been in love before. Anyway, it seems legit. And now his brother Blake is here, and, well, he's the complete opposite of Graham. Sarc

AN OCTOBER BRIDE by Katie Ganshert

Now this is the type of fake wedding I can approve of.  Is your face like, WHAT? right now, well my explanation comes in the form of this review. While putting the mail on her father's desk, Emma Tate accidentally knocked over his day planner book and a piece of paper fell out.  On the paper was her father's bucket list and everything was crossed out; all except one.  The one that was not marked of was to walk Emma down the aisle. Shocked my this information, Emma knows that her father does not have much time in this world and wants to do this for him.  But who would be her groom?  She cannot call her ex-fiance of two years for this, that's just cruel. Help comes in the most surprising place in the form of Jake Sawyer, a life long friend of hers.  He was the one to "propose" to her and set this whole idea in motion. With this secret only between the two of them, can they really pull of a fake wedding and fool not only her parents, but the entire small t

COVER REVEAL

I love Karen Hawkins and for those who do not know who she is, you should!  Just some helpful advice from your friendly online blogger.  I know I always say that I dislike a tease, but this time I could not help myself.   This book is coming out in August of NEXT YEAR!  I know right, that is a long time to wait, but the reward would be worth it. This book is the third in it's series and after this, my prediction is that it has one to go. P.S.  The first book in the series is under another series name.  It's called how to pursue a Princess and is named under The Duchess Diaries series.  Sneaky, sneaky Karen Hawkins. Now on to the cover reveal.  ( If you would like to see this on it's original website, the link is here . ) The Prince and I – Cover Reveal! *happy dancing on desk* *throwing confetti* *drinking champagne from shoe* *clapping to the marching band* *high kicking from parade float* *kissing Hugh Jackman cutout* YAYYYY!!!!! A JULY BRIDE by Beth Wiseman

Well this book was a surprise to me.  Usually when two people hurt each other in this way, I don't like them but Alyssa and Brendan got me good.  I felt more for Brendan than Alyssa and here is why. "Today is the day, today is the day I finally get to marry the love of my life.  After months of planning everything is set in motions as I walk down the aisle on my father's arm." This was Alyssa Pennington's thoughts when she watched the panic in her future husbands eyes right before he turned and fled out of the church. Embarrassed, humiliated and heart broken, Alyssa never wants to feel this way again, so when Brendan come grovelling back, she runs into the arms of another man. Brendan knew he made a terrible mistake.  Leaving Alyssa at the alter was the stupidest thing he has ever done.  He does everything in his power to win her back, but all his stunts just drives Alyssa further away. Would these two hurt souls find their way back to each other?

THE CHRISTMAS WEDDING RING by Susan Mallery

Keeping in the theme of the season, here's a lovely Christmas story for you.  This is a re-issue of a book that Susan Mallery published in 1998 and it was named Wedding Ring Promise back then.  Now it has a new title as well as a  new cover, enjoy! Molly Anderson is having a bad life.  Not only does her mother seem to hate her, her father is indifferent to her and her sister can't stand her.  The love of her life, bad-boy Dylan Black, is moving away from town. Before Dylan left, he gave her a wedding ring ( that he was going to give to her sister ) and promised her that when she is ready to go on an adventure, all she has to do is find him and give him the ring.  With that he drove away on his motorcycle. Years later, Molly's life seems to get worse and the only saving grace is that she and her sister are now on great terms.  After having the most horrible week of her life that begins with her losing her job and her fiance leaving her for his young secretary.   Mol

A SEPTEMBER BRIDE by Kathryn Springer

I got approved to review A July Bride, but I already read this one and in the natural order of things, I'm reviewing this one first.  Hope none of you are too disappointed by me for not reviewing the books in the correct order. Ever think that you need a second chance, or even a chance to feel like you belong.  Amy Price has that feeling, which was more like a longing to belong.  After the life she had, I ca understand why. The most wonderfully unexpected thing happened that allowed her to curb her longing. A friend she met from an online book club, convinced her to move to her hometown of Red Leaf and run her bookstore since she was about to retire. Feeling like all her prayers has been answered, Amy accepted and packed her bags moved to the cute little town.  In no time at all, Amy was welcomed into the bosom of the town and it felt as if she was there for years.  Everyone accepted her, everyone but one. Jessie Kent does not trust the new little implant into the town.

ALL'S FAIR IN LOVE AND CUPCAKES by Betsy St. Amant

I have the pleasure of reading my second book from Miss Betsy St Amant, she wrote a book for the A Year of Weddings Series, A February Bride, which I enjoyed very much and she did not disappoint with this one. Kat Varland gives a new term to the phrase, scaredy cat.  She complains about her life all the time but is afraid to do anything about it.  Her main problem is that she has absolutely no confidence in herself. She is fed up of always baking vanilla, strawberry and chocolate cupcakes in her aunts bakery and would like to experiment and try new things in the store but her aunt always tells her no. That coupled with her low self esteem and you have one miserable baker. It would have been okay if her family believed in her for her, but no such luck.  Unintentionally they have put Kat down throughout her life, making her feel like she is less than she is.  The only saving grace is her best friend Lucas Brannen, who picks up the slack and shows her everyday that he has faith i
