FLAMES OF PASSION by Kayla Perrin

This book was a little disturbing and awkward.  The main character felt like a loose cannon and I stopped feeling sorry for her, really fast.  Here's why. Nya Lowe has a terrible record of dating the worst guys that are out there.  Having enough of always attracting all the wrong men, Nya vowed to stop dating for a year to get out of her rut. A few months into her vow, and a situation ( which was pretty funny, if you ask me ) lead Nya into the arms of a smoking hot fireman, kissing him for all that it's worth. Tyler did not plan on having a beautiful woman practically fall into his lap and kiss the breathe out of him, but he can't complain. Finding out the reason for the impulsive kiss gave him the opening he needed to further know the lady.  All Tyler wants to do is get know Nya but all Nya does is push him away.  Would Tyler be able to get around Nya's walls? or would Nya stay true and stick to her vow?   +Kayla Perrin  wrote one of th...

McKETTRICK'S CHOICE by Linda Lael Miller

I got this book at a book swap and I reluctantly picked it up to read it, thinking that I would not enjoy the book.  Boy was I wrong, I have to stop passing judgement on books before I read them, otherwise I would miss out on a lot of good books. What would you do if a letter came to you telling you that the man who raised you is about to lose his land and a good friend of yours is going to hang for a crime he did not commit?........oh and it's also your wedding day! If your answer is get married well I'm sorry but you would be wrong.  Hot Mckettrick choose his "adopted family" and rode of to Texas on his horse to save the people he loves. Lorelei Fellows is the daughter of a tyrant of a judge who as a statement burned her wedding dress in the town square after finding her soon to be husband in bed with a house maid, and on there wedding day no less. After watching the dress burn a few minutes, Lorelei turned to walk away when large hands grab her and she i...

BLUE SMOKE by Nora Roberts

This i s another re-read for me, my copy is a little water damaged but still legible. This is a story about two souls that were connected by fire, one in the path of destruction and the other in the path of righteousness. Reena Hale was only eleven years old when the restaurant that her mother and father owned was caught on fire.  Being the one to see the fire she was also able to save three lives in the process.  Reena's family bonded even more that night when another family was torn apart. The Pastorelli's life was destroyed that night when he got it in his head to burn down Reena's family restaurant. This was due to an altercation that took place between Reena's father and Mr. Pastorelli after is son, Joey, attacked Reena at school.  After the fire Reena and Joey's life was never the same again. Years later, after having fire claim people that she loves, Reena has learned to close herself off and learned not to let anybody get close.  She fears that ...
