Swans Book Review

This book was a little disappointed and has no mystery to it.  I found out almost every secret of the book in the first three chapters. Can you believe that, a book with no mystery and EVERYTHING was easily resolved. Lady Annys Macqueen is in desperate need for some help. This book was not what I was expecting.  It was totally different from what I speculated and I have to say, the cover of a book has let me down once again. A certain over used quote comes to mind. Abby Kerr is the chieftess of Clan Kerr.  Yes you heard me right, she, as in a woman, is the chieftess of her clan, when she unexpectedly got the title by default. It may sound good in theory but unfortunately it was not.  The men were not accustom to listening to a woman, much less to actually take orders from her.  As you can guess, she does not have the full support of her people. The only way to get their support is to marry, but that is the last thing Abby wants.  If she marries, her title would go to her husband and she would be nothing but a mere woman. I was not fortunate to read the first book in the series, but I did get to read the second and now the third, but unfortunately I was declined to review the fourth, now I feel sad.  But that has nothing to do with just how fun and thrilling this book was to read.  Let me tell you my thoughts on The Beauty and the Barbarian. After reading "The Angel and the Warrior" I really needed a book to pick me up and I am so glad that this book did just the trick.  The only thing that irked me was that the heroine in this book upset me greatly. Needing royal assistance, Baron Ross issued a tournament to enchant the Highlanders to leave their land and come to the Lowlands to take part.  What he really wanted was for the Highlanders to fight a dangerous battle that would get most of them killed. After the tournament the Highland Lairds choose instead to entrust their best warriors to stay and fight. This was not exactly what Baron Ross wanted but he knew that he could not change their mind so he accepted. Bran MacLeod was one of the warriors that was left behind, and even though he did not like it, he knew that he can never go against his Laird.  It did not help matters that their was a dangerous instant attraction between him and the baron's last daughter.  Bran knows that getting involved ...

Alright, apparently my theme this time around is to read books from authors I have never even heard about.  So far, I am having fun enjoying new things whilst discovering new authors; but one thing I would LOVE to know, is their a sequel to this book because seriously, Rowan Keats left me hanging. I decided to read all the Julie Garwood books that I have one after the other. I just randomly choose one from my collection and read it, and I am having so much fun.  The secret is is my latest find and I enjoyed it immensely.
