MARRYING WINTERBORNE by Lisa Kleypas

I was so excited to read this book, especially after the fiasco that happened between Rhys and Helen in the first book of the series, Cold-Hearted Rake. Lady Helen Ravenel has never dared to want anything out of life, especially after finding out the truth of her parentage. But now Helen wants Rhys, but the thing is, she has no idea how to handle any man, especially someone as worldly and handsome as Rhys, but Helen is determined to try.  Rhys Winterborne was not born into the upper classes. Even with his vast wealth and influence, he is not accepted into polite society. In order to gain this, Rhys must marry a lady of high rank. No woman stirs his blood as Helen does and with the advantage of her being the daughter of an Earl makes Helen perfect for him.   Of course, there are sinister forces that fall in their path of a happily ever after, but the question is, could their marriage last, especially when Rhys learns of Helen's secret? There is no se...

WICKED RIDE by Sawyer Bennett

Now this book was something else. There is danger, excitement and sex, lots and lots of sex. Logan Mckay is one of the fantasy makers at the Silo and he's wicked good at his job. A horrific event in his past has had him running from as fast as he can into the future but this has left him numb to the real world. That is until he met her. She was a new girl in the Silo, her "owner" was auctioning her off to the highest bidder. She was sex on legs and every man wanted her, including Logan, even though he does not want to want to want her especially since he knew that he can never have her. The thing is, she is a rarity, a virgin and every man in the Silo is willing to spend every penny the have in order to be the first to get a taste of her. And that's the problem. Logan does not want anyone touching her, he does not even want the other patrons to even look at her. He can not explain this protectiveness he has for her, he just understands that it's th...

ONE HEART TO WIN by Johanna Lindsey

This story has a pampered girl from England turn into a maid and cook for an uncivilized family.  And the book was awesome. Tiffany Warren's heart is in a turmoil.  She hate's the father that wants nothing to do with her after her mother left him with no clear explanation as to why.  Tiffany would be more than happy on never having to see her father, but her mother has other plans. Tiffany is being forced to marry her family's enemy in order to stop a ridiculous feud. Tiffany is totally against the marriage, but she promised her mother that she would try to get to know her fiance while she stayed with her father. Upon arriving at her destination, an opportunity emerges.  One where she can get to know her fiance without having to see her father. The opportunity was to become the housekeeper for the Callahan's.  The family of her fiance and her family's enemy.  As soon as she stepped into their house, she was immediately put to work. ...

SWEETEST SCOUNDREL by Elizabeth Hoyt

This book is labeled as a Historical Romance, but I think that it's fair to warn you that it is also one of the best erotic romances I have read this year, maybe ever.  Elizabeth Hoyt made the words "May I" sound like the sexiest thing you can ever hear from a man. Eve Dinwoody was traumatized by something terrible in her past which has made her terrified of both dogs and men.  But Eve did not let that her fear totally rule her life.  She tries to life her life in a way that is comfortable to her with her friend and guard Jean-Marie by her side. When her brother was forced to "leave" London, he put her in charge of his funds.  Determined to help her brother, Eve goes to the pleasure garden that he is funding to know where all the money her brother is putting in the place is being used. When she meets Asa, her life was never the same again especially when she cuts off his funding to rebuild his dream. I had so much fun reading about Eve's rea...

INVITATION TO PASSION by Bronwen Evans

Now this was at a disadvantage to me, since I did not read the first two books in the series, thank goodness it can read as a stand alone. Richard Craven had felt like his heart broke when the love of his life, was forced to marry a violent brute of an OLD man.  Unable to curb his desire for her, he was almost caught in an uncompromising position with said MARRIED lady, until someone intervened. The person who helped him was none other than Lady Madeline Knight.  A woman he views as a sister but due to certain circumstances, they must now wed. Fate seem to throw a cruel hand at him, since not a day goes by after he weds Madeline, that news reaches him, stating that the woman he loves husband is dead. To make matters worse, she might be pregnant with his child. Madeline Knight thought she was doing the right thing when she saved Richard from his lovers irate husband.  She was able to save him from that scandal only to jump into another.   The way in ...

A TOUCH OF PASSION by Bronwen Evans

I was so excited to receive this book.  I read the first two books in the series, and I loved them and this book was no different. Being kidnapped and sold to harem is more than the high spirited and independent Lady Portia Flagstaff can take.  She loves excitement and danger but this, this was too much. She has to find a way to escape, but what can she do?  She is only one woman, up against hundreds of guards.  Her only hope is in Grayson Devlin, Viscount Blackwood. A man who despises her reckless ways, but sets her heart on fire. After losing his entire family when he was young, Greyson Devlin, also lost his best friend in the war. He promised his best friend, as he was dying, that he would look after his sister. Having her abducted and sold in to slavery is not exactly a good way of keeping his promise.  Enraged, Greyson sailed off as soon as he learned about her kidnapping and miraculously, he was able to save her. Now in order to protect her re...

NEVER JUDGE A LADY BY HER COVER by Sarah MacLean

This book was a big let down for me.  The title was promising, so was the cover.  Even the description of the book got to me and then when it got down to actually reading the book, I got a headache.  Here's why. Lady Georgiana was tricked out of her virginity.  Yes, it's the classic story of girl falls in love with boy, boy makes her many promises, girl gives up her cookies, boy says thanks and goes on his way. That was not the end of it.  Georgiana gets pregnant from that one time and she was shunned from the ton.  In her shame she fled, only to come back for whatever reason. Vowing to avenge herself, Georgiana creates a new identity named Chase, that many in London fear but must never know the true identity of. Georgiana wants to crush everyone that has ever treated her wrongly, and to do that, she must get their secrets. Ten years later, things were going well.  She built a club with the entrance fee being giving up one ...

THE SHOCKING SECRET OF A GUEST AT THE WEDDING by Victoria Alexander

This book title is such a mouthful to say, but oh what fun it is as well.  I was intrigued just by the title of the story and the story itself had me hooked. Imagine living the first 30 years of your life thinking that your father is dead only to have him show up and put your mother in the most awkward of places. It seems that is what happens to Jackson Quincy Graham Channing, Vice President of a prestigious banking facility in New York, and his father.  His mother thought that it was not fit to tell him about his father but she also failed to inform his father that he also has a son, dun, dun ,dun. Feeling betrayed and highly upset, Jackson did something that he has never done in his entire life, made a rash decision and decided to accompany his father to his home in London to meet the rest of the family. Learning that one day he would inherit both a title and a grand estate, it seems his life is getting better and better, but Jackson does not feel that way.  ...

McKETTRICK'S CHOICE by Linda Lael Miller

I got this book at a book swap and I reluctantly picked it up to read it, thinking that I would not enjoy the book.  Boy was I wrong, I have to stop passing judgement on books before I read them, otherwise I would miss out on a lot of good books. What would you do if a letter came to you telling you that the man who raised you is about to lose his land and a good friend of yours is going to hang for a crime he did not commit?........oh and it's also your wedding day! If your answer is get married well I'm sorry but you would be wrong.  Hot Mckettrick choose his "adopted family" and rode of to Texas on his horse to save the people he loves. Lorelei Fellows is the daughter of a tyrant of a judge who as a statement burned her wedding dress in the town square after finding her soon to be husband in bed with a house maid, and on there wedding day no less. After watching the dress burn a few minutes, Lorelei turned to walk away when large hands grab her and she i...

NO MORE PLAYAS by Brenda Jackson

At first I was upset because I thought the ending of the book came first but then I realized that it was brilliant. Miss Jackson skipped the falling in love story and went straight into the grovelling and apologizing stage to get the girl back. Lance Montgomery was a huge arse and Dr. Asia Fowler blinded herself with her past pain but as nice as their love story was I loved Lance's sister, Carrie, love story much better and I thought that her story overshadowed her brothers. I more wanted to know what was going to happen next with Carrie and Conner (don't they sound cute!). Miss Brenda made me feel the pain and the joy of her characters and I cannot wait to find another of her books in the library to read.

THE PASTOR'S WIFE by ReShonda Tate Billingsley

DESPERATE is how I describe little miss Savannah McKinney.  To use someone’s own torment to get them to do whatever you want them to do, especially when that someone is a good man and is already dealing with a lot stress. With the pressure from the board members of his church and from his crazy shenanigans that his aunts keep putting him through is what helped pushed Terrance into the arms of Savannah in the first place.  But when her real self came out to play and Terrance got to see her for what she really is and got out of there quick, fast and in a hurry. Armed with dark secrets of the past, Savannah uses this information to get Terrance to do WHATEVER it is she wants him to and that is how I got to realize that you shouldn’t give Savannah the benefit of the doubt because if she could pull this stunt then she is a bitch and that she has to go. These decisions that Savannah has made is affecting everyone involved and then some, will Terrance let Savannah ha...

SIN NO MORE by Kimberla Lawson Roby

I read this book in a few hours, the drama kept coming and coming.  First came lies, then came affairs, then came baby in a carriage. Curtis Black, big name pastor, sinning and making a mockery of his wedding vows, again.  His wife is furious with him, even though she herself did the same thing, twice, but Reverend Black has turned his life around. He has changed for the better and is honoring his vows but his ex-mistress won't let him forget about his daughter and began the shout that started the avalanche of events that occurred. This seem to happen a lot in the church theme books I borrow, blackmail, deceit, betrayal, and many arguing, baby mama drama and baby daddy drama. I guaranty that this book will have you enchanted from page one.     HAPPY READING! You can purchase this book in the link below.

BASKETBALL JONES by E.Lynn Harris

I heard about this author in a young adult book I was reading and I instantly went out to the library to see if I found any of his books.  This is the only one they have by E . Lynn Harris. Aldridge "AJ" Jones is a kept man. He has access to the best of everything and does not even have to work a regular job. It's all thanks to his man, Dray Jones, an NBA all star whose still stuck in the closet.  The two of them "supposedly" fell in love in college and their relationship is still to this day.  Even when Dray married a woman all because his team mates were asking too much questions. AJ encouraged Dray to marry, because he wants his man to be happy.  AJ always tells himself that he does not need Dray, he just chooses to be with him out of love. When a blackmailer threatens to expose their secret, would Dray finally stand up and reveal who he really is?  Or would he end the relationship and leave AJ with a broken...

REVEREND FEELGOOD by Lutisha Lovely

I LOVED this book, I just did not want to put it down, and I was sad when it finished.  Everyone in this book had the most twisted way of thinking. Nathaniel "Nate" Thicke is the senior pastor at The Gospel Truth Church.  Even though he is the senior pastor does not mean that he is senior himself. At the young age of 28, Nate is considered a preaching prodigy.  It must pick up where his father and his father's father have left off. Things are not as they seem in the church, with the minister having to take care of his flock, weather spiritual or of the flesh, Nate has his pick of the ( female ) flock. When he falls head over heel in love with one woman, who happens to be underage.  Would his flock understand that he wants to be a one woman man?  Things get even more complicated when a baby is involved. Would is the mother?  Read and find out in the fifth installment of the Hallelujah Love Series, Reverend Feelgood.  ...
