WICKED NEED by Sawyer Bennett

This is not the type of book that I tend to gravitate too.  If this book was not part of the Wicked Horse Series, I would not have even picked it up, but I'm glad I got to experience something new and like it.  Rand Bishop is an Olympic Champion who had his dreams shattered years ago.  Amazingly, he was able to put the past behind him and move on with his life.  Especially when he landed the sweet job of being a fantasy maker at the Silo. Catherine, on the other hand, has always been dealt the worst hand in life, and it seemed to have gotten worse.  Her husband died and supposedly left nothing for her.  Now she's living in her car in the parking lot of the Silo, lost as to what to do with herself. Lucky for Catherine, Rand takes her in and gives her his place to stay for a while until she figures out what to do.  Thus a unique romance was born. This is my first time reading a book like this and I was pleasantly surprised. Rand and Cathe...

SWEETEST SCOUNDREL by Elizabeth Hoyt

This book is labeled as a Historical Romance, but I think that it's fair to warn you that it is also one of the best erotic romances I have read this year, maybe ever.  Elizabeth Hoyt made the words "May I" sound like the sexiest thing you can ever hear from a man. Eve Dinwoody was traumatized by something terrible in her past which has made her terrified of both dogs and men.  But Eve did not let that her fear totally rule her life.  She tries to life her life in a way that is comfortable to her with her friend and guard Jean-Marie by her side. When her brother was forced to "leave" London, he put her in charge of his funds.  Determined to help her brother, Eve goes to the pleasure garden that he is funding to know where all the money her brother is putting in the place is being used. When she meets Asa, her life was never the same again especially when she cuts off his funding to rebuild his dream. I had so much fun reading about Eve's rea...

BOOK BLITZ + Q&A + GIVEAWAY for Don't Make Me Beautiful

Don’t Make Me Beautiful by Elle Casey Publication date: September 9th 2013 Genres: New Adult, Romance, Suspense A message from Elle about Don’t Make Me Beautiful:  A really long time ago, I read an article in a newspaper or a magazine (I haven’t been able to locate the original) about a woman who was so badly beaten over a long period of time, she couldn’t leave her house.  I thought about that woman a lot over the years and about what her thoughts might have been, her fears, her reality … and this book was my attempt to both exorcise those thoughts from my brain and also shed some light on a subject —domestic violence— that I feel should never be left in darkness. (October is Domestic Violence Awareness month.) Synopsis: **This story was inspired by true events. If you liked the movie “Sleeping With the Enemy”, then you might like this story too. CONTENT WARNING: Violence, foul language, and adult situations. Not meant for younger readers...

COVER REVEAL for No Interest in Love

I know that I really a lot of romance books but the truth is, I've never actually have a romance of my own.  I know, crazy right.  This is why this book title stood out to me.  Here's a little something from the author of No Interest in Love, Cassie Mae. Because I love GIFs, and my main character in this book, Jace, is obsessed with How I Met Your Mother, we're gonna do the cover reveal with a series of HIMYM GIFs :D There's this guy; this actor... And his balls are so very blue. He wants that problem rectified. And he has his chance when his agent... this girl here: ...lands him an audition for the next big Rom Com with an A-list actress who is known for really getting to "know" her co-stars.  The audition's on set in Alabama. He's in LA. Flights are grounded, car engine gets flooded, and the fecal matter pretty much hits the fan.  Now he has to get across the country with the girl who dr...

HEAT by Jamie K. Schmidt

When your fiance is a drug addict and starts beating on you what do you do?  You stay and take the beating of course, since you're a doctor and believes that you can fix him.   When he forces drugs down your throat, do you knock him out and report his ass to the police, nooo.  You wait until he passes out, grab what you can and go into hiding. This seems to be the case for E.R (No not the tv show) Dr. Mallory Bryant. After hiding for two months and her finance completely depleted, Mallory has no other choice than to seek help from the black sheep of the family, her older sister Colleen.  Colleen owns a "special" business called Couture which has a sweet side and a wicked side.  Wanting to protect her little sister, Colleen enlisted the help of one of her employees to look after her. Max, liking the benefits of the job, excepts it and that is how to story of Max and Mallory began.  Because of the wicked side of Couture, Colleen has heavy securit...

THE RIGHT WIFE by Beverly Barton

All I can say is wow.  It went from pillar to post with this book and I could not fully grasp how quickly the story escalated.  When I thought it was over, another situation was slammed into my face that left me reeling.  Let me explain. Margaret Campbell is a vibrant young woman with the weight of the world on her shoulders.  After her mother's death, Margaret had to become the mother to both her younger brother and sister and times got especially rough when her father dies years later. Not knowing what to do, Margaret was grateful when her mother's brother decided to take the three of them in. Margaret was overjoyed that she can keep her promise to her father and get a better life for her siblings but things don't go according to her plan and it's all Aaron Stone's fault. Aaron Stone is on a mission, a mission to find a wife.  Not just any wife, the right wife (get it). After saving Margaret, her siblings and her colored servant at the train station, ...

RANSOM by Julie Garwood

Now I'm back to woman having the brain and men being their regular clueless selves. I love Ransom, I'm ashamed to say that it took me some time before I realized that it was a continuation from another one of +Julie Garwood 's books, when you read the book, can you guess which one it is? Lady Gillian, having seen her family destroyed by a power hungry beast called Baron Alford, who sole purpose was to retrieve a jeweled box for his King John.  Upon seeing that the box was lost to him and that Gillian was not telling him anything, he banished her to her uncles house until he has need of her again. With her father murdered and her sister missing, Gillian is left on her own with only a maid to accompany her to her uncles house.  One thing Gillian does know is that she will never forgive the man who destroyed her family.  Now over a decade later, Baron Alford believes he has found Gillian's sister who he thinks knows the whereabouts of the jeweled box.  He ...

THE LION'S LADY by Julie Garwood

All right guys, The Lion's Lady is my next stop on my Julie Garwood book marathon and I have to say, I loved it.  The trails and errors, and there were many of them just came together and made a perfect book with a not so perfect ending.  Let me explain. Two mothers, both grew up at different sides of the road and were thought to hate each other; have bonded over their past pain and made a pact to look after each other's child if something was to ever happen to them. Unfortunately, something happened to one of them and the other was true to their promise and took on the task of raising her child, but when she arrived home, everyone was excited to see her again, but not so much for the unexpected little bundle she arrived with. Years later, after the child has grown, she was sent back to her own people to complete what her mother has started, even though it pains them all to send her away. Christina Bennet has taken London by storm and has quickly gained the nickname...

THE WEDDING by Julie Garwood

A heart that was nurtured to seek revenge against the people responsible for his father's murder and the destruction of his home has left Connor MacAlister without a day of true peace. With vengeance in his heart and revenge on his mind, Connor would do anything to humiliate his enemy, including abducting his enemy's future wife and marrying her for himself. Lady Brenna was taking a break by a stream when she heard a shout from her camp, when she arrived it was to see that five "outcast" have subdued her guards and and all she can do was pray to save them. When their intentions were clear, Lady Brenna agreed to marry their leader (Connor) in exchange for the release of her guards, and the most troubling thing to me is that she was worried about the war paint that her future husband was wearing more than being married against her will. With his task of taking his enemy's bride completed, Connor is convinced that his life would stay the same with little t...

NO MORE PLAYAS by Brenda Jackson

At first I was upset because I thought the ending of the book came first but then I realized that it was brilliant. Miss Jackson skipped the falling in love story and went straight into the grovelling and apologizing stage to get the girl back. Lance Montgomery was a huge arse and Dr. Asia Fowler blinded herself with her past pain but as nice as their love story was I loved Lance's sister, Carrie, love story much better and I thought that her story overshadowed her brothers. I more wanted to know what was going to happen next with Carrie and Conner (don't they sound cute!). Miss Brenda made me feel the pain and the joy of her characters and I cannot wait to find another of her books in the library to read.

MISUNDERSTOOD by C.C Graham

This book is about a love story without one of the person knowing that they are a big part of that love story, I loved it. Shy girl with no friend meets girl, boy notices shy girl, a baby gets involved and then a pregnant person is having a romance with someone who is not the father whilst her baby daddy purses her best friend and everyone is cool with that ad oh yeah they are sixteen and eighteen years old, for real. My only disappointment with this book is how it ends, they just say that someone is in the hospital and that’s it, no author’s note saying when the sequel is coming or if there even is a sequel.  There was not even an author’s bio, not cool C.C. Graham, not cool.

THE FIFTY SHADES TRILOGY by E.L James

I kept hearing about this Fifty Shades of Grey book and I was intrigued enough to beg someone to borrow their copy of the book (the library doesn’t have a copy).  When my sister brought the first book home and I was so excited everybody was looking at me weirdly at home (LOL), but at last the excitement died when I started to read it, I thought it was a rip off of the Twilight book and I wanted to chuck it in the corner and sulk but I pressed on and I am glad I did.  I was waiting for Christian to get all sparkerly in the sunlight and what I got instead was like WHOAH. This book is NOT your typical boy meets girl and falls in love, love story.  In my opinion Christian Grey had way more problems than what up-bringing suggested but hey, people develop differently from abusive background and I can’t judge and the good thing is, he got through all of his issues through the trilogy thanks to the help of Anastasia Steele. When I finished the first book I made a surp...
