HIS WORK OF ART by Shannyn Schroeder

I requested this book because it was about nerds in love and comic books, which are two things that I enjoy.  I loved that it contained comic books as well as a woman with a sassy mouth. Reese Carter is not your average joe. She is a girl with a plan.  A plan to write her own comic.  She has the writing down, but she cannot draw to save her life.  Therein lies the problem. Reese is reluctant to share her baby with someone else, especially after what happened the last time. But Reese needs someone to draw her illustrations. Otherwise, it would only be a book and not a comic and that's how Adam is desperately needed. Adam Hayes is both thrilled and terrified to draw the art for Reese's Comic Book.  He has never met someone like Reese, who is smart, sassy and can keep her own when talking about comics.  Even with her preferring DC over Marvel. Adam has only ever drawn for himself and is unsure on how to go about drawing what Reese wants. They ...

TWITTER GIRL by Nic Tatano

Twitter has gotten to be really well known and they even had it as a basis for this book.  This book was major fun; where else would you find an over six feet amazon who rocks high heels. Cassidy Shea, widely known as @TwitterGirl, has unfortunately lost her job due to poor words placement.  In the face of losing her job and the whole world hating on her, to further put a slap to her face, her boyfriend also took a hike. In the face of total ruin, a knight in shining armor comes to save the day by offering her a job for just being her Twitter Girl self.  Working close to the most eligible bachelor, Will Becker, is a huge bonus, seeing as he is running to be President of the United States of America and looking for a first lady.  Twitter Girl catches Will's eye, but so does her best friend.  Now he is dating them both and it's not clear who he likes more. Feeling down about the confusion that is her love life, Cassidy is thankful for her job....

GENTLEMEN PREFER CURVES by Sugar Jamison

This is a book after my own heart.  When I read that it was a book about big girls, I was excited to read this book and it did not disappoint.  Belinda Gordon sucks at dating, I mean, every single guy that she goes out with are total garbage. The  latest one saying that he hesitated to ask her out because of her weight. She let him off totally easy compared to what I would have done.  But seriously, it's like the universe is trying to tell her something about the men she's dating. Then the answer for the reason why she was dating all these losers came crashing into her life in the form of her estranged husband. ( Yes, she was going on dates whilst she was still married, don't judge her like I did too early, you have to know her reasons .) Carter Lancaster cannot believe that after all these years, the woman he can't stop thinking about is right in front of him.  Things don't go well when on their first meeting after four ...

HEAT by Jamie K. Schmidt

When your fiance is a drug addict and starts beating on you what do you do?  You stay and take the beating of course, since you're a doctor and believes that you can fix him.   When he forces drugs down your throat, do you knock him out and report his ass to the police, nooo.  You wait until he passes out, grab what you can and go into hiding. This seems to be the case for E.R (No not the tv show) Dr. Mallory Bryant. After hiding for two months and her finance completely depleted, Mallory has no other choice than to seek help from the black sheep of the family, her older sister Colleen.  Colleen owns a "special" business called Couture which has a sweet side and a wicked side.  Wanting to protect her little sister, Colleen enlisted the help of one of her employees to look after her. Max, liking the benefits of the job, excepts it and that is how to story of Max and Mallory began.  Because of the wicked side of Couture, Colleen has heavy securit...

TO TASTE TEMPTATION by Elizabeth Hoyt

Apparently I read this series in the wrong order.  I read the forth book first and then I read the first book in the series after. How crazy is that! Lady Emeline Gordon has taken it upon herself to teach wealthy girls the rules and etiquette in London. She does this knowing as widow and with more money than she can count, she does not have to work another day in her life. Lady Emeline is a very classy woman who thinks that everything must be done according to the rules of society.  This is why she dresses  fashionably  and flawlessly appropriate  at all times.  All was going well until Emeline agreed to introduce the sister of a moccasin wearing ex colonial soldier now successful businessman, Samuel Hartley. Samuel Hartley came to London, hunted by his past that has him running from his demons each night.  In his last mission his team was massacred by savage Indians at Spinner's Falls. One of the fallen men was Lady ...

INN AT LAST CHANCE by Hope Ramsey

I'm not sure if this book ended fairly or if the author cheated.  I feel cheated somehow but I can't place my finger on why I feel this way. Let me explain. Jenny Carpenter has decided to take charge of her life, which includes her quitting her job as a teacher in her small hometown of Last Chance ( Yes, that is the real name of the town ) and pursuing her dream of opening a Bed and Breakfast of her own. It has nothing to do with her giving up being married with kids and to embrace her spinster hood, it's just that she found that it was time to follow her dreams. Trouble comes when the former owner of the hunted house Jenny bought shows up on a dark and stormy night ( I'm not kidding ) demanding that she sell him back his house.  Not comprehending why someone would see her a house and then want to buy it back at a ridiculous prize, Jenny told him that she's not selling, slammed the door in his face and thought that was the end of it. Gabriel Raintree is a b...

EVENING STARS by Susan Mallery

I was not expecting all this angst in this book, but, it oddly intrigued me.  This book is for all the women who ever felt like that it is too late to  achieve your dreams. Well guess what, it's not and  +Susan Mallery  tells us a story about why that is! Nina Wentworth is a small town nurse who also has a life time job of being the responsible one.  Having to be a mom to her mother and to her sister, Nina was not able to be child, she always had to be the grown up around the house. Feeling trapped with no way out, her life becomes even more complicated when her high school sweetheart comes back to the island to stay. After breaking her heart all those years ago, Nina did not see Dylan again until he rescues her from having to walk home in the pouring rain. With Dylan being back on the island, it brought up memories and feelings that Nina would have liked to have kept hidden. To make matter even more confusing, on another rainy day, another man from her...

DOUBLE PLAY by Jill Shalvis

YEAH! I went into the bookstore and saw this book and I just picked it up without even looking at the description on the back. I've read enough books of  +Jill Shalvis  to know that her books are funny, warming and heartbreaking all at once, and I was right. Pace Martin is a man who was forced to realize a terrible truth. A truth that all men realize much later on in their lives, but for Pace, that time came much to early.  Being the ace pitcher for the Pacific Heat (Baseball for those who were wondering) , he's got the whole package and good looks to boot. Suffering from an arm injury that can force him to an early retirement, Pace realizes that his whole life is baseball, so the question is, who is he without it?  Pace being a man, thought that he was nothing without baseball.  Needing to focus on not letting his injury become worse, the last thing he needs is a distraction and of course that is exactly what he gets, in the form of Holly Hutchins. Ho...

FOREVER AND A DAY by Jill Shalvis

+Jill Shalvis  has done it again.  She has created a wonderful universe where I just want to jump right in and experience the action for myself. Grace Brooks is not having a good day, scratch that, she's not having a good life.  Always feeling like she has to live up too what her parents want for her, Grace kind of lost herself in the process, or more like, she was never given the chance to discover who she is. After walking out on a job four months ago, Grace finds herself in Lucky Harbor where she meets some great friends and people who make her feel at home, which is a first for Grace. Needing money Grace accepted a dog walking job (although she stole it) which brought her into the dysfunctional world of Dr. Josh Scott. Josh Scott is an Alpha man, he takes care of people which makes him being doctor perfect for him; except that there is not enough time in the day to accomplish what he has to do. After taking x amount of hours at work, he has to come home t...
