Usually I don't really like to read a science fiction book that is too much removed from what we use today. This is because I have a hard time picturing what it is exactly I'm suppose to be picturing. ( if that makes any sense to you ). I requested this book because of the publisher and I was not disappointed. Pasha hates being a slave. Having to earn his keep on his knees on the most dangerous bar on Warlan. He tried to run away but the officials caught him and brought him back to his owner. Even if, by some miracle, he does escape, where would he return to? With no memory of who he is, Pasha has no idea who or what is waiting for him. Yet deep down, he knows that he is meant for more.
