HEAVEN FORBID by Lutishia Lovely

With a name like Reverend Doctor Pastor Bishop Overseer Mister Stanley Obadiah Meshach Brook Jr. you know that he has lived a long life living for the Lord.  With a wife he has been married too since he was 20 and she 17, and have four children, you’ll think that he would be happy too, YEAH RIGHT! When Reverend O returned to the church to bring it back from a terrible scandal, instead he just made it worse.  Preaching about fire and brimstone and installing ridiculous rules,  the members of the church just could not take it anymore and attendance has dwindled, a lot, and with attendance down, income is also down. With the return of someone from their past, a crater size problem is also put on his marriage where, to me, a problem arises when lack of communication on his wife part had a big consequence, which is not having her husband all to herself. His wife was just not fair, she made a decision that affected the both of them and failed to inform or disc...

AND MISTRESS MAKES THREE by Francis Ray

The most selfish man I have ever read about resides in this book.  This man fathered two kids and divorced them as well as his wife of fourteen years so that he can act young and play the field. Then there is a young woman who wants a young man who also wants her but is to stubborn to do something about it.  She does not give up even when his stupid man pride keeps him away from her and of course almost losing her makes him take action, men, if it wasn’t for us women nothing would be done. Now that her husband have left her and took most of her self-confidence, this now single mother of two must now support her kids without the help from their dead beat dad when an actual man comes into her life and helps make things right; but when the sorry excuse of a man come rolling back into her life, is she having second thoughts. I liked this book, even though it has the basis of being a man is had its own unique twist to it that I found was enjoyable to read, it only ...

ONE PRAYER AWAY by Kendra Norman-Bellamy

Mitchell Andrews made a bad mistake. His failure to cope made it worse. He turned to alcohol, and his angry outbursts drove his wife away--but it drove him to find Christ, sobriety, and newfound hope.  He attempts to win back the love of his life, but the mistakes of his past threaten to undo his second chance. Will he come undone at his weakest moment, or will God give him the strength to endure? Simply put, this book is about forgiveness and acceptance. Seven years is a long time, people can either change or get worse in that frame of time. Virture and Mitchell used to be married, but because of a whole lot of ugly that happened, they split up.  Now seven years later they meet again.  the ugliness of the past reared it's ugly head and had Virture running from Mitchell once again. Mitchell has changed and wants his wife back, but is the past so painful that it is too hard for Virture to forget and also to forgive him? Me personally, I would forgive him, b...
