MAD FOR THE PLAID by Karen Hawkins

I had this book on my Kindle app for the longest while, waiting for when I have time between work or school to start it, and I completely forgot about it. Forgive me  +Karen Hawkins . Alisa MacKenzie has a problem. The problem is not that her father has put her in charge of the castle, the problem lies with gaining the trust of the people who work on it. Men do not take kindly to taking orders from a woman, and Alisa has to work hard in order to gain their favour so that they will not be against listening to her. She has reached a long way in gaining their trust until something goes horribly wrong. Natasha Romanovin a Russian Duchess and grandmother to the crown prince have been kidnapped along with a neighbour of theirs. Now Alisa must prove to her staff that she is the right person to lead them by getting back the prisoners as soon as possible and try not to start a clan war in the process. Everything was going as planned until Prince Nikolai comes to...

INVITATION TO PASSION by Bronwen Evans

Now this was at a disadvantage to me, since I did not read the first two books in the series, thank goodness it can read as a stand alone. Richard Craven had felt like his heart broke when the love of his life, was forced to marry a violent brute of an OLD man.  Unable to curb his desire for her, he was almost caught in an uncompromising position with said MARRIED lady, until someone intervened. The person who helped him was none other than Lady Madeline Knight.  A woman he views as a sister but due to certain circumstances, they must now wed. Fate seem to throw a cruel hand at him, since not a day goes by after he weds Madeline, that news reaches him, stating that the woman he loves husband is dead. To make matters worse, she might be pregnant with his child. Madeline Knight thought she was doing the right thing when she saved Richard from his lovers irate husband.  She was able to save him from that scandal only to jump into another.   The way in ...

CASH BLOG TOUR STOP

The minute any woman walks into my bar, I can tell two things about her: what she wants to drink, and how she likes to f*ck. I’m Cash: bartender at the hottest bar in Atlanta. I’ve got girls lining up around the block, and they all know the rules: no strings, no promises, and no morning-after snuggling. You want brunch? Call your sister. You want the best sex of your life? Call me. Or better yet, just drop by the bar anytime. Clothing optional. There’s a reason they call me a sexy bastard. And yes, I really am that good. Cash is certainly not Mr. Right, but hell if I don’t want him to be Mr. Right Now. That’s it. Throwing caution to the wind, I lean into him and kiss him right on the lips. He tastes like champagne and mint. It’s a quick kiss. I draw away much sooner than I would like, but it’s just as good the second time around. It clouds my head, and for the first time in forever I don’t care about my job or promotion. Staring in...

CASH by Eve Jagger

When I read the description of the book, I immediately wrote this book off as something someone wrote just for the heck of it.  Boy was I wrong, Eve Jagger wrote an amazing story. Cash looks like he has his sh*t together.  He is a bartender at one of the hottest bars in Atlanta.  He has women willing and lining up to be his bed partner for the night. The best part is that they all understand that it's only one night. No strings, no promises and definitely no snuggling.  If you want a relationship, look somewhere else.  If you want to experience the best night of your life, you can call Cash. That's the persona that Cash shows to the outside world.  In reality, Cash's life is in a huge turmoil and he wants to keep his friends from ever finding out who he really is. All that changed with the one sexy lady who resisted his charms, Savannah Jagger. Can Savannah help Cash get over his pain and fear? Or would she hurl him further down into ...

FIND MY WAY HOME by Michele Summers

What do you get when you combine Betty Boop and Daffy Duck?  Unexpectedly you get the fourth of July.  Well with all the fire-works going off, I thought it was the fourth of July.  Michele Summers wrote an amazing story that had me a little disappointed at the end.  Read on to find out why. Bertie Anderson is an interior decorator with her own business who has the determination to get out of her home town. Even if that means quitting her business and accepting a lowly position at a firm in the city of Atlanta, the design capital of the South. Everything was going as plan until Keith Morgan walked into her life. He's talented, handy and hot as fire and Bertie thought he was gay and made the mistake of telling him that.  Let's just say that Keith did not take kindly to being called gay, especially not from the ridiculously well shapely Bertie Anderson. Keith Morgan went to see a man named Bert, that his aunt recommended, to redecorate his new home. ...

THE DARING EXPLOITS OF A RUNAWAY HEIRESS by Victoria Alexander

This was a nice book, but it did not live up to my expectations.  The last two books in the series that I read which are The Scandalous Adventures of the Sister of the Bride (which was my first book ever by Victoria Alexander) and  The Shocking Secret of a Guest at the Wedding .  Those two books were amazing and this one left me wanting. Lucy Merryweather engagement has finally broken from her fiance of many years. They both knew, deep down, that they did not wish to marry each other and that they were just following their parents wishes. While her ex-fiance celebrates his freedom by going off on his own adventure, Lucy decides to go on one of her own. Armed with a list od adventures she inherited from her great-aunt as well as her fortune, Lucy has set out to finish what her great-aunt did not even got a chance to start.  She was able to accomplish a few things on the list until her guard dog was discovered. Thinking that her fun was about to be spoi...

TO HOT TO HANDLE by Katie Rose

I don't really like baseball but how can I resist this book cover.  The description of the book was interesting as well.  My vow to read books from authors I have not heard about helps as well and this is what I think about my new discovery. Nikki Case is no fan of baseball. After having to clean up the mess of her ex-husband's gambling debts, Nikki wants nothing to do with the sport. Things don't go her way when she is assigned to manage the image of a Baseball team. The New Jersey Sonics are well known for their womanizing ways and drunken brawls. Expecting the worse, Nikki goes in with the big guns but was met with opposition. The team was not as she was expecting, especially smoking hot, star hitter, Jake Baldwin, who has the power to make her wet. Jake Baldwin admires the way that Nikki seems that she is made of steal.  After being pranked left and right by his team members, Jake watched as Nikki took it all in stride.  She was labeled the frost queen...

THE SECRETS OF SIR RICHARD KENWORTHY by Julia Quinn

I enjoyed this book very much.  There was a secret and I seriously had no clue as to what it was until it was actually revealed.  I felt such pain to be decieved, even though I'm not the one that was wronged. Sir Richard Kenworthy is in desperate need of a bride. Nobody fully knows why, but he just does.  For this to happen, he has to engage the most desperate of all the available ladies on the market.   His quest brings him to the Smythe-Smith family, where he met his diamond in the rough.  No, he did not fall in love, he just found the the most acceptable desperate lady, he needs. With only one look at her, even with her washed out coloring, he knew that he has found the answer to his problem. Isis Smythe-Smith is more intelligent than she lets on. She is an observer and with this skill, she reads people and their intentions simply by the way they act. It helps that she has a pale complexion and a seemingly sly wit that helps her blend into the ba...

THE SHOCKING SECRET OF A GUEST AT THE WEDDING by Victoria Alexander

This book title is such a mouthful to say, but oh what fun it is as well.  I was intrigued just by the title of the story and the story itself had me hooked. Imagine living the first 30 years of your life thinking that your father is dead only to have him show up and put your mother in the most awkward of places. It seems that is what happens to Jackson Quincy Graham Channing, Vice President of a prestigious banking facility in New York, and his father.  His mother thought that it was not fit to tell him about his father but she also failed to inform his father that he also has a son, dun, dun ,dun. Feeling betrayed and highly upset, Jackson did something that he has never done in his entire life, made a rash decision and decided to accompany his father to his home in London to meet the rest of the family. Learning that one day he would inherit both a title and a grand estate, it seems his life is getting better and better, but Jackson does not feel that way.  ...

GENTLEMEN PREFER CURVES by Sugar Jamison

This is a book after my own heart.  When I read that it was a book about big girls, I was excited to read this book and it did not disappoint.  Belinda Gordon sucks at dating, I mean, every single guy that she goes out with are total garbage. The  latest one saying that he hesitated to ask her out because of her weight. She let him off totally easy compared to what I would have done.  But seriously, it's like the universe is trying to tell her something about the men she's dating. Then the answer for the reason why she was dating all these losers came crashing into her life in the form of her estranged husband. ( Yes, she was going on dates whilst she was still married, don't judge her like I did too early, you have to know her reasons .) Carter Lancaster cannot believe that after all these years, the woman he can't stop thinking about is right in front of him.  Things don't go well when on their first meeting after four ...

HEAT by Jamie K. Schmidt

When your fiance is a drug addict and starts beating on you what do you do?  You stay and take the beating of course, since you're a doctor and believes that you can fix him.   When he forces drugs down your throat, do you knock him out and report his ass to the police, nooo.  You wait until he passes out, grab what you can and go into hiding. This seems to be the case for E.R (No not the tv show) Dr. Mallory Bryant. After hiding for two months and her finance completely depleted, Mallory has no other choice than to seek help from the black sheep of the family, her older sister Colleen.  Colleen owns a "special" business called Couture which has a sweet side and a wicked side.  Wanting to protect her little sister, Colleen enlisted the help of one of her employees to look after her. Max, liking the benefits of the job, excepts it and that is how to story of Max and Mallory began.  Because of the wicked side of Couture, Colleen has heavy securit...
