Swans Book Review

Growing up, I use to sneak away my mom's Mills and Boon romance books because she said that they were to "grown up" for me.  I was reading ahead of everyone in my age group and I wanted something to read, and my mom's books were my target.  Ah, I used to love every Mills and Boon books that I could have gotten my hands on, but now a days, I am sorry to say, I am choosey. Mills and Boon in my opinion quality have declined, I still get some good one now and again, and sadly this book was not one of them. This book comes after "To Scotland with Love", as I have mentioned in my last post, each book can be read independently, but I do not recommend it. This book come after "How to abduct a Highland Lord" which was awesome.  The good thing about this series is that you can read each book on it's own, BUT to enhance the reading experience, read all the books, in the correct order of course. Some years back I saw this in a store and was immediately interested in the the the of the story, when I read the description on the back I was hooked, and thus my first taste of Karen Hawkins was born. I did it, I read the third book without reading the second one and I have to say, it was not the end of the world.  There were some parts where I was confused about things they said, but it would be all cleared up when I get the second book in the series. I bought this book a few years back, and I loved it.  At first I wanted to return it because in my haste, I accidentally picked this one up instead of the Nora Roberts I intended to choose.  But it's funny how life turns out and my slip-up made me discover an amazing author, Candace Camp.  Althea Bainbridge (called Thea), being a vicar's daughter and then sister, had to always abide by the rules in the case that she might embarrass her family.  With everyone thinking her plain and unappealing, having to wear spectacles were not helping matters as well.   Having feeling snubbed that the only romantic experience over ten years ago, was made by a man who forgot about her. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! I went into the Library, looking for some Nora Roberts books, and I turned around and what did I see, Rainshadow Road by Lisa Kleypas. I rushed to the counter, borrowed my book and was happy for two days which was how long it took me to finish the book (sad face).
