SWEETEST SCOUNDREL by Elizabeth Hoyt

This book is labeled as a Historical Romance, but I think that it's fair to warn you that it is also one of the best erotic romances I have read this year, maybe ever.  Elizabeth Hoyt made the words "May I" sound like the sexiest thing you can ever hear from a man. Eve Dinwoody was traumatized by something terrible in her past which has made her terrified of both dogs and men.  But Eve did not let that her fear totally rule her life.  She tries to life her life in a way that is comfortable to her with her friend and guard Jean-Marie by her side. When her brother was forced to "leave" London, he put her in charge of his funds.  Determined to help her brother, Eve goes to the pleasure garden that he is funding to know where all the money her brother is putting in the place is being used. When she meets Asa, her life was never the same again especially when she cuts off his funding to rebuild his dream. I had so much fun reading about Eve's rea...

INVITATION TO PASSION by Bronwen Evans

Now this was at a disadvantage to me, since I did not read the first two books in the series, thank goodness it can read as a stand alone. Richard Craven had felt like his heart broke when the love of his life, was forced to marry a violent brute of an OLD man.  Unable to curb his desire for her, he was almost caught in an uncompromising position with said MARRIED lady, until someone intervened. The person who helped him was none other than Lady Madeline Knight.  A woman he views as a sister but due to certain circumstances, they must now wed. Fate seem to throw a cruel hand at him, since not a day goes by after he weds Madeline, that news reaches him, stating that the woman he loves husband is dead. To make matters worse, she might be pregnant with his child. Madeline Knight thought she was doing the right thing when she saved Richard from his lovers irate husband.  She was able to save him from that scandal only to jump into another.   The way in ...

WHERE THE HEART LEADS by Stephanie Laurens

What drives a gentle born lady to spend all her time taking care of the children of less fortunate families instead of grooming herself to find a husband as is the norm in those days? You would have to ask Lady Penelope Ashford. Lady Penelope Ashford along with her sisters had opened a home for underprivileged children so they can grow up and earn a trade for themselves.  For years the Foundling House ( as they named it ) has thrived  but of late their charges has been disappearing. It usually works like this, when someone from the West End of London is about to die, they send word to the Foundling house about their predicament and make plans for the Foundling house to take in their children/ward when they are gone. When the parent or guardian dies, neighbors send word that their client had died and they go and collect the child, except recently someone has beaten them to it. Feeling at a lost at what she must do, Penelope seeks the aid of Barna...

THE RIGHT WIFE by Beverly Barton

All I can say is wow.  It went from pillar to post with this book and I could not fully grasp how quickly the story escalated.  When I thought it was over, another situation was slammed into my face that left me reeling.  Let me explain. Margaret Campbell is a vibrant young woman with the weight of the world on her shoulders.  After her mother's death, Margaret had to become the mother to both her younger brother and sister and times got especially rough when her father dies years later. Not knowing what to do, Margaret was grateful when her mother's brother decided to take the three of them in. Margaret was overjoyed that she can keep her promise to her father and get a better life for her siblings but things don't go according to her plan and it's all Aaron Stone's fault. Aaron Stone is on a mission, a mission to find a wife.  Not just any wife, the right wife (get it). After saving Margaret, her siblings and her colored servant at the train station, ...

A ROGUE'S PLEASURE by Hope Tarr

I got this book in a second hand store for ten dollars and I thought that this book would have been alright, but not to good.  The book is battered and has that old book smell and it took me a while to actually pick up the book and read it and I'm glad I did because I have read this book five times and I am going for my sixth. Chelsea Bellamy is sent into further disarray when she receives a ransom note for five hundred pounds for the release of her brother.  After losing her father and her mother, Robert, her brother, is the only family she has left. He the daughter of a squire and Robert taking the last of their coin to join the regiment, Chelsea has no money left, much less five hundred pounds. In desperate need of the money, Chelsea decided to ask a neighbor of her's for the money but his terms for the repayment was much to high and vulgar to her and she refused his help, as she very well should have, sick pervert. Still in need of the money Chelsea decided to tur...

REBELLIOUS DESIRE by Julie Garwood

First off I have to say that this cover was not done good at all, OMG, this is such a poor Photoshop work and it irritates me so bad, I want to jump on my computer and redo it or sweep under the rug and forget that it ever existed. I only bought this book because of it's author. Caroline Richmond after being away from her father for over fourteen years is finally able to go back home, but she has second thoughts about going backing, thinking that it is hard for her to back to a father who she thought had abandoned her all those years ago. On her arrival to England, she saved a man from robbers by shooting them and that is where she met Jered Marcus Benton, the Duke of Bradford.  The only man that can make her forget herself and make her not feel in control; and with someone out to get her due to revenge, he is the only man she can thrust.  Jered Marcus Benton, after a scaring experience in his life, vow never to get smitten with another woman ever again, but that vow ...
