THE SHOCKING SECRET OF A GUEST AT THE WEDDING by Victoria Alexander

This book title is such a mouthful to say, but oh what fun it is as well.  I was intrigued just by the title of the story and the story itself had me hooked. Imagine living the first 30 years of your life thinking that your father is dead only to have him show up and put your mother in the most awkward of places. It seems that is what happens to Jackson Quincy Graham Channing, Vice President of a prestigious banking facility in New York, and his father.  His mother thought that it was not fit to tell him about his father but she also failed to inform his father that he also has a son, dun, dun ,dun. Feeling betrayed and highly upset, Jackson did something that he has never done in his entire life, made a rash decision and decided to accompany his father to his home in London to meet the rest of the family. Learning that one day he would inherit both a title and a grand estate, it seems his life is getting better and better, but Jackson does not feel that way.  ...

HEAT by Jamie K. Schmidt

When your fiance is a drug addict and starts beating on you what do you do?  You stay and take the beating of course, since you're a doctor and believes that you can fix him.   When he forces drugs down your throat, do you knock him out and report his ass to the police, nooo.  You wait until he passes out, grab what you can and go into hiding. This seems to be the case for E.R (No not the tv show) Dr. Mallory Bryant. After hiding for two months and her finance completely depleted, Mallory has no other choice than to seek help from the black sheep of the family, her older sister Colleen.  Colleen owns a "special" business called Couture which has a sweet side and a wicked side.  Wanting to protect her little sister, Colleen enlisted the help of one of her employees to look after her. Max, liking the benefits of the job, excepts it and that is how to story of Max and Mallory began.  Because of the wicked side of Couture, Colleen has heavy securit...

AT THE DUKE'S PLEASURE by Tracey Anne Warren

All the books I choose are like a yo-yo, first one disappoints me and then the next one makes up for it. I'm still in my "trying something new" phase and even with the disappointments in some books, I'm loving trying new authors.  At the Duke's Pleasure is an awesome read that will have you laughing. Edward Byron, Duke of Clybourne, has had his life planned out since the day he was born.  What school he had to attend, the friends he was to keep and worst of all, what bride he was to take.  This was too much for a boy of ten to take and he rebelled (quietly) against having a bride, ten years his junior.  Now Edward is in his early thirty's and finally saw the wisdom of his father choosing a bride for him, but when he goes to claim his bride, would she have him? Claire Marsden has always known that she was to marry a Duke and has been excited about the marriage until her heart was broken at the tender age of sixteen. To further add insult to injury, her...

COMPLETE by Lindy Zart

Complete is the second and last book of Lindy Zart book "Incomplete" starring Greyson Lee and his best friend Lilly.  Except for this time we are reading from Lilly's point of view. When we last saw these two love birds, Lilly made the ultimate sacrifice so that Greyson can achieve his dream and she told him "I'll wait forever for you Greyson" and I believed her. I was so excited when I started to read Complete, thinking that it would have less angst than in the first book, but boy was I mistaken. Lilly have given up, all the spunk and fearlessness she once possess in the first book completely disappeared in this one and she has also lost my respect. I has been two years since Lilly split with Greyson and still she would not pick up the phone and call him, thinking to herself that he was over her, since he was dating multiply women, totally disregarding that he has a tattoo of a Lilly over his heart and her name tattooed on his knuckles. Lilly j...
