WHILE YOU WERE WRITING by Virginia Nelson

An author and an artist came together through fate or just plain stubbornness.  Two lost troubled souls in need in need of being found, now the question is, do they want to be found? Being more grumpy than Oscar the grouch has it perks.  You can throw all the temper tantrums that you want and people would just leave you alone.  This seem to be the case for Radcliffe Mcqueen who refuses to pretend social niceties. It sounds awesome that he is just being himself but the truth is that he built a wall around himself with his harsh honesty and the negligence of his appearance.  You'll think that he'll be the author of horrors with the way he acts, but you would be wrong.  He writes beautiful romance novels that speaks to the helpless romantic he imprison inside himself.  Would the self righteous, I'm going to save the world, one person at a time, Miss Sheri Riddle be able to help. Sheri Riddle has made it her mission in life to help trouble souls find t...

THE BEST MAN by Kristan Higgins

I had this book in my library of my Kindle app for the longest while and I never read it.  I was browsing through my library when I saw it and I opened it up and was immediately hooked. Faith Holland does not have much luck in the love department.  After being left at the alter, Faith leaves behind her family and friends in Blue Heron, just to get away from the soul-sucking pain that seemed to have consumed her.  She just needed a break from everything, but ended up staying away for many years. Now a family emergency has her returning to her home of Blue Heron Winery, which is her family vineyard where everyone but herself has a place in. Being back would give her the time to confront the ghost in her past as well as get on good terms with her family.  Things don't go according to plan when she keeps running into the best man at the almost wedding, the same man who ruined her wedding. Levi Cooper did not have the best starting out in life, but he made the...

FIND MY WAY HOME by Michele Summers

What do you get when you combine Betty Boop and Daffy Duck?  Unexpectedly you get the fourth of July.  Well with all the fire-works going off, I thought it was the fourth of July.  Michele Summers wrote an amazing story that had me a little disappointed at the end.  Read on to find out why. Bertie Anderson is an interior decorator with her own business who has the determination to get out of her home town. Even if that means quitting her business and accepting a lowly position at a firm in the city of Atlanta, the design capital of the South. Everything was going as plan until Keith Morgan walked into her life. He's talented, handy and hot as fire and Bertie thought he was gay and made the mistake of telling him that.  Let's just say that Keith did not take kindly to being called gay, especially not from the ridiculously well shapely Bertie Anderson. Keith Morgan went to see a man named Bert, that his aunt recommended, to redecorate his new home. ...

THIS HEART OF MINE by Brenda Novak

This book is a thing of beauty.  I would not have thought to write a book like this. The emotion and the drama contained in the pages of this book, blew me away. Phoenix Fuller was the type of girl your parents told you to stay away from. She lived in a trailer park with a mother who scorns anyone.  Children were thought to stay away from her although she has not done anything to deserve their scorn. Having an obese mother who is also a hoarder, Phoenix did not grow up in a nice environment. When, for some strange reason, the handsome and popular Riley Stinson wanted to be her boyfriend, Phoenix was desperate not to lose him. When he suddenly broke up with her, Phoenix was in a panic.  To make matters worse, she found out that she was pregnant and was anxious to get Riley back. Yes she stalked him at school, yes she called him excessively on the phone and yes she still loved him but there was no way she drove over the current girl he was dating. Unfortu...

THE PERFECT HOMECOMING by Julia London

WARNING! Do not read this book unless you have about five boxes of tissues by your side. Maybe I was hormonal when I was reading this book, or maybe I related to Emma, the main character, and her pain. I don't know, all I know is, I cried, A LOT. DO NOT READ THIS BOOK IF YOU DO NOT LIKE A GOOD CRY! Emma Tyler is a beautiful woman. With her long blonde hair and delicate features, she has every man in a five mile radius lusting after her. Even though she is beautiful on the outside, on the inside she has a train wreck of a life.  Emma can't seem to control her mouth in any situation.  She always says what she thinks; normally that may be a good thing, but people always seem to take what she says the wrong way. Because of how broken she is, Emma only targets older, fat men who only wants her for her body.  Feeling disgusted with herself after the deed is done, Emma takes something of each of her "conquest", something that the person would not miss that she k...

LITTLE BEACH STREET BAKERY by Jenny Colgan

I was reading this book the same time I was reading the Girls of Mischief Bay by  +Susan Mallery  and I wondered why I chose two boring books back to back.  I was so wrong on both of these books. Polly Waterford's life is falling apart.  The business she and her partner had, has gone bankrupt.  They must now give everything to the bank in order to satisfy their loans. Left with barely anything to live on, the only place that she found that she can afford to rent is someplace far away in the sleepy seaside resort of Polbearne. The place is barely livable but something about the place draws her.  Maybe it has something to do with the kitchen she found that called to her inner baker. Bread is her specialty, and when Polly kneads dough for the first time in her new place, it felt as if she was kneading all her troubles away. The scent of her bread carries outside where some fishermen take notice and invite themselves to some bread. Soon Polly wa...

UNLEASHED by Rachel Lacey

I read this series out of order, but I did not get confused.  Each book can be read on its own, but to better understand the story, you should read all the books. Cara Medlen cannot believe her home owners association. They want her to get rid of her dogs, and to never bring a new one home.  This is a very difficult thing to do, since she is one of the few foster homes for Triangle Boxer Rescue.  Which her best friend Mary had founded. None of the dogs she takes in are hers to keep, but she falls in love with them all and cry happy tears when they go to loving families.  The reason for not keeping any of the animals for herself is that Cara has a ten year goal in mind, and in her focus to reach that goal, Cara decided not to get attached to anything or anyone. Her plans take a nose dive when she finally met her sexy (totally smoking hot, if you ask me) next door neighbor, who she has been eyeing for the past year, but did nothing about it. Matt Dumont a...

THE TROUBLE WITH LOVE by Lauren Layne

This was a very fun read. The characters were just... and the story line was like.....I have so much to say but I don't know where to start. Emma Sinclair is a survivor. After being left at the alter and betrayed by the people she loved, she left her town of  North Carolina and made over her image. Emma trades her blushing bride-to-be persona, for that of the untouchable ice queen of the Manhattan dating scene. She made new friends at the magazine she works at called Stiletto.  As much as she loves her friends, Emma never had the courage to tell them all that had happened back home and how it destroyed her at one point. She has been keeping that secret for years until an assignment from work has her dredging up demons from her past.  Especially the sexy, no good, liar who left her at the alter who, as a twist, is her boss. Having to give up his dreams of being a pro soccer player, Alex Cassidy hung up his cleats for good and decided to move on with his live....

ONCE AND ALWAYS by Elizabeth Hoyt

Okay, this was a first to me.  I recently began reading Elizabeth Hoyt books and I am starting to really like her.  Now this book was a shock to my system, I knew her as a historical romance author, not this type.  Intrigued I requested the book and was pleasantly surprised. Sam West is a small town cop who always has the inkling to pull over speeders in town.  This particular speeder however is the elusive Maisa Bradley, also known as May, the woman who he had an amazing one night with. Sam had every intention of making it more, but she sneaked away in the middle of the night, and showed having no interest in doing it again.  Sam has done his best to get time to talk to her, but she just blows him off. Not one to give up, Sam persist until the holy grail of  a misunderstanding ended up at his doorstep. Maisa could not believe her bad luck.  First she is pulled over, again, by the sexy cop that makes her feel things she shouldn't.  Then...

HELL ON WHEELS by Z.A. Maxfield

When I read the description of the book I knew that I was going to like it, and I did.  It's just that I was expecting it to do something for me, and it did not. Here's why. Nash is the reliable one in the family. The one everyone goes to keep things going. Having a genius of a twin brother, an inventor of a father and a wheel-chair bound sister, Nash does not feel special in the family. He took it upon himself to run the family's auto-repair business, while his brother is off at university and he looks after his sister, giving his father time to invent. His life seems to be already set for the foreseeable future, no matter how much that makes him feel unfulfilled. Spencer Kepler-Constantine is an actor on the show Wolf's Landing.  He is in the middle of a very painful, very public divorce with his husband.  He isn't in any position to start a relationship. Nash meets Spencer when he was out on his bike, trying to run free before he has to go back to t...

DARE ME by Kelly Jamieson

Well this book was different!  I liked it, it was hot and spicy and l loved the scene when he rammed her against the wall and.......( clears throat ) moving on to my review. Micki Arnott, an interior designer, was very excited. Her boyfriend for over a year is finally going to pop the question.  At least she hopes he is.  Buzzing with anticipation, Micki was excited the entire day and could not wait for later that night. Dressing her best, wanting to look good for her boyfriend Garret, and even though he has not said that he loved her, she knows he does, just by the simple things he does for her.   When they were seated at the restaurant, and Garret said he had something important to tell her. Instead of the diamond ring she was expected; she got a contract instead? Garret Caulfield wants Micki to move in with him, to commit to him and no one else.  Knowing the disaster that love and marriage can bring, he wants none of that after seeing his parents h...

TO HOT TO HANDLE by Katie Rose

I don't really like baseball but how can I resist this book cover.  The description of the book was interesting as well.  My vow to read books from authors I have not heard about helps as well and this is what I think about my new discovery. Nikki Case is no fan of baseball. After having to clean up the mess of her ex-husband's gambling debts, Nikki wants nothing to do with the sport. Things don't go her way when she is assigned to manage the image of a Baseball team. The New Jersey Sonics are well known for their womanizing ways and drunken brawls. Expecting the worse, Nikki goes in with the big guns but was met with opposition. The team was not as she was expecting, especially smoking hot, star hitter, Jake Baldwin, who has the power to make her wet. Jake Baldwin admires the way that Nikki seems that she is made of steal.  After being pranked left and right by his team members, Jake watched as Nikki took it all in stride.  She was labeled the frost queen...

FLAMES OF PASSION by Kayla Perrin

This book was a little disturbing and awkward.  The main character felt like a loose cannon and I stopped feeling sorry for her, really fast.  Here's why. Nya Lowe has a terrible record of dating the worst guys that are out there.  Having enough of always attracting all the wrong men, Nya vowed to stop dating for a year to get out of her rut. A few months into her vow, and a situation ( which was pretty funny, if you ask me ) lead Nya into the arms of a smoking hot fireman, kissing him for all that it's worth. Tyler did not plan on having a beautiful woman practically fall into his lap and kiss the breathe out of him, but he can't complain. Finding out the reason for the impulsive kiss gave him the opening he needed to further know the lady.  All Tyler wants to do is get know Nya but all Nya does is push him away.  Would Tyler be able to get around Nya's walls? or would Nya stay true and stick to her vow?   +Kayla Perrin  wrote one of th...

REALEASE DAY OF ONE MAD NIGHT by Julia London

One mad night was one fun book.  The characters were fun and lovable and I wished for of these type of books from Ms London. Chelsea has worked and worked and worked her butt off for the company she works for, only to be kept down.  But not anymore, the Telsa account, which is the biggest account to manage in the business, is finally within her grasp, as well as a promotion, but hotshot Ian Rafferty gets in her way. Not wanting the smoking hot new guy to come and take what is rightfully her's, Chelsea works even harder to come up with a campaign to blow Ian's out of the water. She had her idea down, all she had to do was rest up at home for the presentation tomorrow.  Things were going as planned when a blizzard has Chelsea stranded at the office with none other than her rival. Ian Rafferty was paid big bucks in order to leave his old company.  Excited and motivated, Ian knows that landing the Telsa account would make people know that he is serious and not...

TWITTER GIRL by Nic Tatano

Twitter has gotten to be really well known and they even had it as a basis for this book.  This book was major fun; where else would you find an over six feet amazon who rocks high heels. Cassidy Shea, widely known as @TwitterGirl, has unfortunately lost her job due to poor words placement.  In the face of losing her job and the whole world hating on her, to further put a slap to her face, her boyfriend also took a hike. In the face of total ruin, a knight in shining armor comes to save the day by offering her a job for just being her Twitter Girl self.  Working close to the most eligible bachelor, Will Becker, is a huge bonus, seeing as he is running to be President of the United States of America and looking for a first lady.  Twitter Girl catches Will's eye, but so does her best friend.  Now he is dating them both and it's not clear who he likes more. Feeling down about the confusion that is her love life, Cassidy is thankful for her job....
