I had this book in my library of my Kindle app for the longest while and I never read it.  I was browsing through my library when I saw it and I opened it up and was immediately hooked. This book was a disappointment from my expectations of it. Yes, I liked the book and had many a laugh over it, but the female main character was not the strong independent  woman I was told she would be. Alexandra Dempsey is the only female firefighter at Engine Co.6.  This means that she gets it from all sides from co-workers who thinks that she can't do the job to the wives of said co-workers who think that she is after their men. I took close to four hours reading this book.  I kid you not, I started the book, got very engrossed in it and when I read the final words, I looked at the time and realized that I read this book quickly and loved almost every bit of it.  Almost! Gideon Harrow has spent almost his entire life in the Gallows of London's Underworld.  Having to s teal and con  for a living, trying to survive. After all these years, Gideon finally wants out, but the only way he can do that is with money.  His chance comes in the form of a job from his former employer .  A job where he has to steal a valuable necklace from one of their own. First off let me just tell you how much I love this cover. OMG, it's light and cute and you can just feel the magic that is contained in the book.  I just adore animals on book covers. I instantly look up the books that I see animals or children on the cover. Wth that said, on to my review Painting the side of a brain is not what Olivia Bennett had in mind for her 29th birthday. But when you have enough drinks in your system, anything is possible, especially when you are trespassing on other people's property and defacing their building.
