CUPCAKE AND CRUSHES by Keri Ford

This was such a sweet book.  This romance was cute and touching and it's only book one in the series.  I'm looking forward to the rest of the books in the series. Annie Cookie left her hometown and never looked back.  She did not want to stay in the that she was most betrayed in. Unfortunately for her, her grandfather broke his wrist and would not be able to do his job.  This would not have been all that bad except that his bakery would be at risk at losing two big orders. Annie is happy to help out her grandparents, especially since they took her in when no one else wanted her, but she just wish that she did not have to go back into the place where her heart was broken. With determination, Annie returns to Turtle Pine to help her grandfather but was in for a shock.  Not only was she expected to bake seven hundred cupcakes, she also has to bake a cake for her sister that stole her high school sweetheart. Not wanting anything to do with her half-siste...

SUGAR ON TOP by Marina Adair

I received this book in the mail and I loved it.  I would have read it all in one day, but unfortunately, life butted in. I got the book, sat down, admired the cover ( because it's an awesome cover ) and I was sucked into the amazing world of Sugar on Top. When you do a good deed, you're supposed to be rewarded in some way for said good deed. Unfortunately, that was not the case for Glory Mann. All Glory wanted to do was to return a tractor her grandmother and her crazy friends "borrowed" before they could get into trouble. That is how the local police were able to arrest Glory on said tractor wearing her nothing but her embarrassing pajamas. After that face flaming fiasco, Glory had to go to court. She was given a sentence that was the absolute last thing Glory ever wanted to do.  Becoming the temporary chairman of the Miss Peach Pageant. If that was not bad enough, the judge also appointed her best friend's brother, Cal McGraw, as co-chairman; that wo...

NEED YOU FOR KEEPS by Marina Adair

This book reminded me of +Rachel Lacey 's  book series Love and Rescue.  I instantly related to the book because of this, but the book is loveable by itself. Shay Michaels would do anything to save the furry residents of St. Helena, Califonia. Being a pet groomer in the town, as well as a pet rescuer, Shay hands her hands full 24'7. Even when she is filled to capacity, if anyone comes to her with an animal in need of a home, Shay can never turn them away. Even though, she gets into a lot of trouble for her selfless deeds. One of the people she has to deal with on almost a daily basis is Deputy Jonah Baudouin.  Shay finds him hot and hard to resist but resist him she must. Shay knows Jonah is not looking for a woman like her, and since he is running for Sherriff, he does not need her running his name in the mud. Jonah knows that he should stay away from Shay, but there is something about her that just draws him to her.  It does not help matters that...

TRAPPED AT THE ALTAR by Jane Feather

Wow, this book is just, WOW.  First time in ever, I think that the woman was a total and selfish female dog.  I cannot stress how much I disliked how this woman thinks, poor Ivor. Ariadne Carfax has always known that she was to marry her distant cousin Ivor to form an alliance between the two feuding families.  Feeling trapped in a marriage she does not want, Ariadne escapes from the the valley where her family lives to have a few moments of freedom to herself and this is where she met Gabriel Fewcett. Thinking herself in love, Ariadne escapes everyday to be with her love who in turn loves her back.  Ariadne threw caution to the win, not thinking of the consequences of her actions.  The day had finally come for her marriage and due to her actions, she is tricked at the altar (get it) by her family.  they think that she has plans of ignoring her obligations and escape the valley one day, so why wait for the marriage when it can happen sooner rather...

YOU'RE ALL I NEED by Karen White-Owens

My library is back baby, YEAH.  It opened it's brand new door with their brand new look but the best part is, they kept their old staff.  When I entered again for the first time after all this time, I was so happy and borrowed two books to read, (even though I have so much e-books at home to read).  This is a story with a twist and I liked it, but was not satisfied by. Tia Edwards wants to make it in her chosen career whilst also maintaining a healthy relationship with her boyfriend, when it all goes downhill (Okay, it went downhill with the boyfriend, not her job), can anyone help her mend her broken heart? Enters Christophe Jensen, he's a new attorney from the home office in France, and for the past few weeks, these two have been flirting like crazy, but now with her ex-boyfriend out of the way, will Tia allow herself trust a man again, (she better) Finally feeling like her life is getting back on track, a family emergency has Tia at a cross-road between living...

IT HAPPENED ONE WEDDING by Julie James

This is the first time that I have read anything from Julie James and it was very entertaining.  It was refreshing to read something that is like the other books I read but have it's own unique touched to it that made it quite an enjoyable read. Sidney Sinclair's time is running out, her biological clock is ticking as well as finding a date for her younger sister's wedding. After having been through a humiliation with the end of her own engagement, Sidney plans to protect herself from making the same kind of mistake again.   Sidney vows for no more men who are players, not secure in their jobs or have bad relationships with their parents.  She even came up with rules that she goes through on each date she takes, and believe me their were a lot of rules.  Sidney thought that she rules would keep her safe until she met  Vaughn Roberts. Vaughn Roberts was out to have coffee before meeting his brother when he me a sexy little red in the shop he was in. ...

McKETTRICK'S CHOICE by Linda Lael Miller

I got this book at a book swap and I reluctantly picked it up to read it, thinking that I would not enjoy the book.  Boy was I wrong, I have to stop passing judgement on books before I read them, otherwise I would miss out on a lot of good books. What would you do if a letter came to you telling you that the man who raised you is about to lose his land and a good friend of yours is going to hang for a crime he did not commit?........oh and it's also your wedding day! If your answer is get married well I'm sorry but you would be wrong.  Hot Mckettrick choose his "adopted family" and rode of to Texas on his horse to save the people he loves. Lorelei Fellows is the daughter of a tyrant of a judge who as a statement burned her wedding dress in the town square after finding her soon to be husband in bed with a house maid, and on there wedding day no less. After watching the dress burn a few minutes, Lorelei turned to walk away when large hands grab her and she i...

MISS CAMERON'S FALL FROM GRACE by Helen Dickson

Growing up, I use to sneak away my mom's Mills and Boon romance books because she said that they were to "grown up" for me.  I was reading ahead of everyone in my age group and I wanted something to read, and my mom's books were my target.  Ah, I used to love every Mills and Boon books that I could have gotten my hands on, but now a days, I am sorry to say, I am choosey. Mills and Boon in my opinion quality have declined, I still get some good one now and again, and sadly this book was not one of them. Miss Delphine Cameron, being the last child of five children, all being girls; and with her not being the most sought after male heir her parents in their disappointment, have neglected and more or less rejected her making feel like she has no purpose.  Her spinster of an aunt make her feel for the first time in her life by asking her to volunteer in charity work, by helping the children at the orphanage on Water Lane. At the beginning of the book you will fi...
