BLOG TOUR AND A GIVEAWAY: The Millionaire Affair with Jessica Lemmon

The top five list for the perfect man Curtsy of Jessica Lemmon from The Millionaire Affair  Let's just assume hard abs, a broad chest, swagger, great hair, gorgeous eyes, and a big… heart are assumed. ;-) I’ve listed the attributes for “The Perfect Man” below. 5) CONFIDENCE.   A man who knows who he is without being cocky about it. Of course, that confidence had to come from somewhere. Probably a stable family, or a life actively lived. In Landon's case from The Millionaire Affair it was a combination of both. 4) LOYALTY.   Can't say enough about this one. Every woman wants man she knows isn't going to go anywhere, and will have her back when she needs him. 3) SENSE OF HUMOR .  A man who can laugh at himself, and laugh off life's frustrations instead of whine about them is super important! A good man can deal with adversity and come out on top. 2) GIVING.   Every good hero has the ability to give of himself. If that's an ear to listen, o

EVENING STARS by Susan Mallery

I was not expecting all this angst in this book, but, it oddly intrigued me.  This book is for all the women who ever felt like that it is too late to  achieve your dreams. Well guess what, it's not and  +Susan Mallery  tells us a story about why that is! Nina Wentworth is a small town nurse who also has a life time job of being the responsible one.  Having to be a mom to her mother and to her sister, Nina was not able to be child, she always had to be the grown up around the house. Feeling trapped with no way out, her life becomes even more complicated when her high school sweetheart comes back to the island to stay. After breaking her heart all those years ago, Nina did not see Dylan again until he rescues her from having to walk home in the pouring rain. With Dylan being back on the island, it brought up memories and feelings that Nina would have liked to have kept hidden. To make matter even more confusing, on another rainy day, another man from her past rescues her, t

DOUBLE PLAY by Jill Shalvis

YEAH! I went into the bookstore and saw this book and I just picked it up without even looking at the description on the back. I've read enough books of  +Jill Shalvis  to know that her books are funny, warming and heartbreaking all at once, and I was right. Pace Martin is a man who was forced to realize a terrible truth. A truth that all men realize much later on in their lives, but for Pace, that time came much to early.  Being the ace pitcher for the Pacific Heat (Baseball for those who were wondering) , he's got the whole package and good looks to boot. Suffering from an arm injury that can force him to an early retirement, Pace realizes that his whole life is baseball, so the question is, who is he without it?  Pace being a man, thought that he was nothing without baseball.  Needing to focus on not letting his injury become worse, the last thing he needs is a distraction and of course that is exactly what he gets, in the form of Holly Hutchins. Holly Hutchins is

THE RIGHT WIFE by Beverly Barton

All I can say is wow.  It went from pillar to post with this book and I could not fully grasp how quickly the story escalated.  When I thought it was over, another situation was slammed into my face that left me reeling.  Let me explain. Margaret Campbell is a vibrant young woman with the weight of the world on her shoulders.  After her mother's death, Margaret had to become the mother to both her younger brother and sister and times got especially rough when her father dies years later. Not knowing what to do, Margaret was grateful when her mother's brother decided to take the three of them in. Margaret was overjoyed that she can keep her promise to her father and get a better life for her siblings but things don't go according to her plan and it's all Aaron Stone's fault. Aaron Stone is on a mission, a mission to find a wife.  Not just any wife, the right wife (get it). After saving Margaret, her siblings and her colored servant at the train station, Aaro

TO DESIRE A DEVIL by Elizabeth Hoyt

Does being in love with a painting make you crazy? Not just any painting, the painting is a portrait of the deceased Earl of the house and title that your uncle currently holds.  The death of this past Earl was the only reason your uncle was able to gain this title and the wealth that comes with it, now imagine the portrait coming to life on your tea table? That is what happened to Miss Beatrice Corning, being in love with a painting of a dead man, Beatrice was quite surprised when he burst into her home, mad with fever, demanding his father, a man who has been dead for five years.   After this shocking display, the man then collapse to the ground, taking her table along with him.  Acting on instinct, Beatrice called for the servants to move him into a room and called for the doctor.  Her uncle just wanted to throw him out, but something in Beatrice just would not let him, an instant bond that she can not explain. Reynaud St. Aubyn has lived in hell for the past seven years an

WINNING MISS WAKEFIELD by Vivienne Lorret

"Winning Miss Wakefield" is such an interesting title.  When you hear these words, you think of a man who is so in love with Miss Wakefield that he tries everything to win her heart, or in a more twisted way he wants Miss Wakefield in order to accomplish something and then cast her aside.  Do you like wagers?  then you're going to love this book. Merribeth Wakefield has had her reputation ripped to shreds all because her fiance of five years (FIVE YEARS) has decided he wanted to marry someone else, not giving a care as to what that would do to Merribeth's reputation. Now being shunned by the ton, a friend of Merribeth's aunt, Eve, comes up with the ridiculous and daring idea for a way to boost her confidence, she has to kiss a rake. The Marques of Knightswold also known as Bane has no time for marriage minded women.  His arrangement for woman are those of a single night and nothing more, until he meets Miss Wakefield.   His whole life, Bane has set out

A PROMISE OF MORE by Bronwen Evans

If you thought the first book in this series, A Kiss of lies, was hot, this book makes that one seem tame compared to this one.  Whoa, I had to fan myself to cool myself off after experiencing the heat that were coming out of the pages.  There is just something about a man name Sebastian (well to me anyway). Beatrice Hennessey is on a mission.  A mission of great importance to not only save herself but also her family. She intends to blackmail the man that murdered her brother into marriage. Yes, you heard me correctly. Not only is he incredible rich, he is also the only one who she has a hold over that will accept to marry her, a spinster. Whilst waiting for him to emerge from his ship, and altercation had her taking an unexpected dip into the Thames only to be rescued by none other than Sebastian Hawkestone, Lord Coldhurst, her brother's killer. After getting a pardon for winning a duel which resulted in the unfortunate death of a man, Sebastian Hawkestone is back in Lon

VIRGIN RIVER by Robyn Carr

I've heard a lot of good things about Miss Robyn Carr on Facebook and I just had to go and check out her books for myself.  When I arrived at my local bookstore, there were so many of her books to choose from I just did not know where to start, so obviously I chose to start from the beginning.  Let me start out by saying, there is something in the water in Virgin River. When suffering from grief, the thing that you will need the most is your family and friends around you to help you through your pain, but not Melinda Monroe. Wanting to start all over in a new environment the first thing she did was sell everything of importance, packed up everything that she needed and moved to the middle of nowhere where no one knows her and won't ask her uncomfortable questions.   How she came to the middle of no-where you may ask?  She answered an ad that said: Wanted : Midwife/nurse practitioner in Virgin River, population six hundred.  Make a difference against a backdrop of t

A KISS OF LIES by Bronwen Evans

This was one raw book.  It was awesomely good and raw.  You might hear me mention that this book is raw later on but when you read it, you'll see what I mean. Sarah Cooper is on the run, someone is out to get her but she won't be caught.  She will have her freedom or die trying. An escape arises when  she sees a post for the position for a governess and what makes this even sweeter is that her employer is a recluse. With a plan in her head, Sarah disguises herself to look the part of a governess but try as she might, see could not hide her beauty.  This did not go unnoticed by her new employer Christian Trent, the Earl of Markham.  Sarah knew the Earl when she was younger and to young to attend balls and had a huge infatuation with him.  He was the most beautiful man she have ever seen but his face is now disfigured by one of the most painful ways possible, by fire. Christian Trent has to go back to England to clear his name of a crime he did not commit but first mus

THREE LITTLE WORDS by Susan Mallery

First time reading a  +Susan Mallery  book and it was a good start, but it would have been great if I had started from the first book in the "Fool's Gold" series. This book have a type of go with it vibe that I am not used too and I cannot decide if I like it or not, yet.  I need more of  +Susan Mallery 's book to come to my own conclusion. Isabel Beebee (Yes that is her real name) has had the biggest blow to any woman's pride, ever, she turned her husband gay and he left her for another man, dun dun dun. Okay, so he was probably gay to begin with but that still does deplete a woman's sense of pride and him leaving her for a man hurt Isabel's pride so much that she moved back home to Fool's Gold to start over. Isabel wants to open a fashion store, but needs capital in order to start her business in New York so Isabel decided to run the family bridal shop until her parents are ready to sell it and then she would pack up and leave to pursue her
