DEAREST ROGUE by Elizabeth Hoyt

I went from book one straight to book eight in this series and even though some of the characters are familiar to me, I got really confuse to as to who everyone was and how they fit together. Lady Phoebe Batten is a caged bird yearning to be free.  Her brother, A Duke, has posted guards to protect her twenty-four seven all because of a little blindness. Okay, her blindness was not a little thing since she was almost completely blind in both eyes. She can still see shapes, but only when the light is really good. Phoebe remembers a time where she was allowed to roam free and do as she wishes when her eye site became worse and worse, and now someone is determined to abduct her and do heavens knows what. It's a good thing that she has the best guard in the world who goes by the name of Captain Travillion.  Her brother hired him even having an injured leg, and her brother is known to only hire the best. Despite how he infuriates her, Phoebe feels the safest when he is ...

JUST ONE SPARK by Jenna Bayley-Burke

It took me a long time to read this book.  It took me a few months and I have now completed this book.  This is mostly in part because the book did not turn out the way I thought it would have and it bored me with its weirdness. Here is what I mean. Hannah Daniels does not find it weird to sit and read an erotic book whilst waiting for her clothes to wash in a public laundry-mart. Hannah was just getting to one of the good parts of her current book when a handsome stranger distracts her.  He was very handsome and she felt a connection the only thing that stopped her from liking him is the wedding ring on his finger. Disgusted by him, Hannah quickly leaves the Laundry hoping to never see the lying bastard again. Mason McNally cannot stop kicking himself for the major screw up with the girl of his dreams.  He was wearing a ring to help his brother with a study of his and she misunderstood. Needing to find her again, Mason looks high and low but cannot find ...

THE BOURBON KINGS by J.R. Ward

This book is not a book I would usually try, but I was asked to read it and I wanted to try something new.  It's amazing when you try something new and you love it. "For generations, the Bradford family has worn the mantle of kings of the bourbon capital of the world. Their sustained wealth has afforded them prestige and privilege—as well as a hard-won division of class on their sprawling estate, Easterly.  Upstairs, a dynasty that by all appearances plays by the rules of good fortune and good taste. Downstairs, the staff who work tirelessly to maintain the impeccable Bradford facade. And never the twain shall meet." Lizzie King, Easterly’s head gardener, has made a terrible mistake of falling in love with one of her bosses. The famous, in the lady department, Tulane Bradford, but everybody calls him Lane.  He broke her heart years ago and ran off, leaving her heart on the ground, shattered into a million pieces. Now, someone he holds dear to him has fallen ill...

IF ONLY YOU KNEW by Kristan Higgins

I requested this book mainly because I read one of  +Kristan Higgins  books and I loved it, and I wanted to read another  to see if the magic I experienced with the best man was still there.  It was still there, can't wait to read more of her books. Nothing can be more depressing than staying in your ex-husband's life, just because it's the only way you can stay near him.  The last straw came when she delivered their baby at the baby shower and had to listen to her ex-husband thank her while crying on the phone. Finally having enough of being the perfect ex-wife, who is okay with her husband finding her boring, our heroine, Jenny Tate, moves from Manhattan to her hometown of Hudson. On her first day arriving at her new apartment, Jenny finds herself meeting her landlord, Leo, who seems to be cocky yet sad.  Soon Jenny finds herself falling for him and is sad eyes but Leo does not want a relationship and that leave Jenny with a cold feeling in the p...

WHILE YOU WERE WRITING by Virginia Nelson

An author and an artist came together through fate or just plain stubbornness.  Two lost troubled souls in need in need of being found, now the question is, do they want to be found? Being more grumpy than Oscar the grouch has it perks.  You can throw all the temper tantrums that you want and people would just leave you alone.  This seem to be the case for Radcliffe Mcqueen who refuses to pretend social niceties. It sounds awesome that he is just being himself but the truth is that he built a wall around himself with his harsh honesty and the negligence of his appearance.  You'll think that he'll be the author of horrors with the way he acts, but you would be wrong.  He writes beautiful romance novels that speaks to the helpless romantic he imprison inside himself.  Would the self righteous, I'm going to save the world, one person at a time, Miss Sheri Riddle be able to help. Sheri Riddle has made it her mission in life to help trouble souls find t...

THE BEST MAN by Kristan Higgins

I had this book in my library of my Kindle app for the longest while and I never read it.  I was browsing through my library when I saw it and I opened it up and was immediately hooked. Now a family emergency has her returning to her home of Blue Heron Winery, which is her family vineyard where everyone but herself has a place in. Being back would give her the time to confront the ghost in her past as well as get on good terms with her family.  Things don't go according to plan when she keeps running into the best man at the almost wedding, the same man who ruined her wedding. Levi Cooper did not have the best starting out in life, but he made the...

BLOG HOP + GIVEAWAY OF A Whisper of Desire

Sensual heat melts the ice in the new Disgraced Lords novel from USA Today bestselling author Bronwen Evans, as a marriage of convenience leads to delightful pleasure—and mortal danger. Lady Marisa Hawkestone’s nightmare is just beginning when she wakes up naked, with no memory of the night before, lying next to Maitland Spencer, the Duke of Lyttleton—a man so aloof and rational he’s nicknamed “the Cold Duke.” A scandal ensues, in which Marisa’s beloved beau deserts her. As a compromised woman, Marisa agrees to marry Maitland. But on her wedding night, Marisa discovers the one place the duke shows emotion: in the bedroom, where the man positively scorches the sheets. Taught from a young age to take duty seriously, Maitland cannot understand his new wife’s demands on his love and affection. Marisa’s hot-blooded spirit, however, does have its attractions—especially at night. In retrospect, it seems quite silly that he didn’t marry sooner. But being one of the Libertine Scho...

BOOK BLITZ + GIVEAWAY of Random on Tour

Random on Tour: Los Angeles Julia Kent (Random Series #7) Publication date: July 19th 2015 Genres: Comedy, New Adult, Romance BOOK SEVEN IN THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLING RANDOM SERIES: I guzzled another flute of Champagne and froze, the liquid in my throat, waiting to be swallowed. Tyler was here. We’d met a few times before, in passing. He was the substitute bass player for the band; I was the lead guitar player’s girlfriend’s best friend. In that weird sort of social circle thing where Venn diagrams get laid over different groups, Tyler and I were bound to be in the crossover once in a while. He looked so hot. Short brown hair. A few days of beard. Bright green eyes that were more guarded than a Russian mobster’s. He was sleeved, the colorful tattoos a tapestry, but every time I met him I couldn’t quite see them. We only saw each other in dark concert halls, or tonight, under the stars. He gave Sam a rare smile and a hearty handshake, forearm musc...

PLAYING WITH FIRE by Kate Meader

This book was a disappointment from my expectations of it. Yes, I liked the book and had many a laugh over it, but the female main character was not the strong independent  woman I was told she would be. Alexandra Dempsey is the only female firefighter at Engine Co.6.  This means that she gets it from all sides from co-workers who thinks that she can't do the job to the wives of said co-workers who think that she is after their men. The worst is probably her over-protective brothers who only sees her as their baby sister. Everything changes when she saves the life of Eli Cooper, the devastatingly handsome mayor of Chicago, Alexandra thought that she finally earned the respect she deserves, but Mr. Mayor have other plans... Eli Cooper is not having a happy re-election. But a great opportunity landed at his feet of the sexy and hotheaded, Alexander Dempsey.  After she saves his life, the public loves her and Eli plans to use her new-found fame to breathe new l...
