Tempted by His Touch: A LIMITED EDITION BOXED SET of Dukes, Rogues, & Alpha Heroes Historical Romance Novels (I know it's a mouthful)
Q&A with Erica Ridley
What’s your favorite
historical romance?
Any old-school Julie Garwood novel. Love her wacky
heroines and the men they drove insane.
What is the first
romance novel you ever read?
ONCE A PRINCESS by Johanna Lindsay. Very much
a product of its time, but it hooked me on romance forevermore!
Would you want to
live in the time you write about?
I'd love to visit, and stay for the
London Season!
What would you love?
I
would love to see, hear, and taste everything in real life. I adore
experiencing new places and interacting with different cultures. You never
really know a place or a people until you're walking in those shoes. I'd love
to talk to servants, dance with dukes, and gossip with curmudgeonly
matrons.
Hate?
No cell
phones Half the fun would be responding to photo comments from Facebook
friends! ;)
If given the choice
between a duke, a rogue, or an alpha hero, which would you choose?
I find
it hard to truly believe in "reformed rakes" in real life, and being
a real-life duchess carries a lot more responsibility than I would ever want or
enjoy, so I'm going to pick rogue! Little bit bad, little bit good. Heart of
gold, love sword of velvet on steel. (Uh... wait a sec....)
What tempts you?
Long eyelashes and a wicked smile.
Rapid fire round:
Designer purses or
Target special?
Partner's pocket. (I'm convinced God gave pockets to men's
pants, explicitly so women would have somewhere to store their ID when out
dancing!)
Heels or flip flops?
Barefoot,
baby!
Rich or famous?
Rich...
I'd use the cash to travel the globe!
American hottie or
sexy Brit?
Sexy accent? Yes, please. ;-)
Where’s your happy
place?
Costa Rica, the happiest country in the world!
Excerpt from DARK SURRENDER:
A part of her had wanted to kiss him from the moment she’d
seen the curve of his lips and the emotion in his eyes. Perhaps what she’d
truly been searching for hadn’t been an excuse to kiss him, but rather a reason
for him to kiss her. Either way, it was perfect. Better than perfect. A real
kiss, a real man, someone who valued her as more than a possession, someone
with whom her body twined because she had done the choosing. And, oh, how
divinely their bodies twined . . .
Without lifting his mouth from hers, he gripped her hips.
The taper fell from her fingers. The flame sizzled and winked out before the
candle hit the ground. Although darkness engulfed them, she did not panic. His
hands were rough, yet somehow gentle—everything she wanted and was frightened
to want, all tangled into one. His grip was firm enough to feel, to know, to
claim. And yet he wasn’t hurting her, hadn’t forced her, hadn’t done anything
but open his heart until she was the one to pull him close and tell him with
her tongue and the press of her body the things that her mind could not make
words for. She was safe in his arms, and her only thoughts were of his kisses.

About Emma Locke:
Emma Locke is a writer and engineer living in the Pacific Northwest,

her analytic side ensures her passionate, satisfying love stories don't mulch
under her bed, and her author side forces her to keep writing more.
