Wood-chipper murder weapon, remains of human bodies being found and the government are all involved in James Patterson's Book, "I, Alex Cross". A beloved family member of the Cross family has been murdered and Alex got the news on his birthday, talk about a party stopper.

Now Alex has to find a killer code named "Zeus" an egotistical nut-job who thinks as himself as superior when he is not but a pretender hiding behind the government who as usual try to cover it up.

With the stress of one of his family being murdered, pressure from the government and Nana being in the hospital, Alex must shift through all the clues that were given to him as well those that was left out; to find the killer before he kills again.

James Patterson always has a great sense of purpose for Alex Cross, I kept thinking that they will find his family member alive at the end and that they would live happily ever after.

It didn't happen that way, in fact, even though justice was served at the end, it did end with a huge scandal, questions being asked, someone stepping down in power or tortured and sent to death row or life in prison.  But everything leading up to that was exciting and sad, I cried when I read about the parts with Nana.

Alex Cross is a great cop, father and soon to be husband (Yeah) and I cannot wait to read the next Alex Cross book in the series.
